Jitendra Kotai This film is set in rural india. Small towns have their own charisma. Akshay Kumar puts his heart and soul into it and delivers a power packed performance. His younger brother is played by Dwiyendu and he catches the dialect perfectly and delivers a beautiful performance. Bhumi Pednekar does these roles with ease. The message in the film is very important and gets delivered to the audience while they are being entertained. Kudos to Bollywood. They have come a long way

Rawal Afzal We're so used to love stories (between unmarried couples) who've to face hurdles and villains before they unite, that a love story like this, over a matter as trivial yet very important, between a (married) couple seems so fresh and unusual. The troubles he takes everyday and the arrangements he makes for his wife to go to the toilet provides moments full of laughter (due to the theme that it touches, the film in general is very funny) but is in every way very sweet too. It takes off further after she leaves him as he literally starts a war for the sake of his love.Only Akshay Kumar could've pulled off a role like this. Not many heroes of Bollywood can play the role of a common man, a villager as efficiently as he does - Ajay Devgn is another but he wouldn't have suited to a role that required a touch of comedy. Bhumi too plays the role of a stubborn, determined woman very well. A very likeble couple.The film is very informative too mind you. As an outsider, this was an eye-opener for me on many levels as I'd no knowledge of this kind of prohibition in the Hindu tradition and culture, although I'd refrain from commenting on the religion as almost every religion of the world has been twisted and misrepresented over centuries. Initially, since I'd no knowledge of it, I was at first not too unconvinced but then the references to their holy book gave me an idea as to how for a serious matter it is after all.A minor objection, and I don't exactly know why, but the ending looked a bit forced upon and out of place to me, especially how the Pundit was convinced through an accident of his own mother. Although not necessarily bad, but I would've ideally shown him to have been convinced through the way women of the village were harassed and were made photos and videos of. This would've changed his thinking and made him see the flaws in his argument in a more convincing manner.Some issues raised and dialogues said were gold, such as....."Women are the ultimate enemy of women," ... and.... "Very conveniently way lay the blame of everything upon the government."These are two of the many points that I always make. So, all in all, a very good film. Kudos to everyone involved!

Prashast Singh Movie: Toilet - Ek Prem Katha (UA)Rating: 4.5/5Akshay Kumar has been choosing even better scripts since last few years, and this film not just adds to the list of another great film starring him, but also to the list of the films which hit very hard. TOILET - EK PREM KATHA is both an entertaining as well as socially awakening comedy- drama which though takes some time to establish the story yet manages to entertain as well as educate when it does. It's one of the best straight Hindi films of the year.Sprinkled with a lot of humour as well as emotions, TOILET never loses its steam throughout and keeps you engrossed. The film is definitely a refreshing experience, because I don't remember any other film made on this topic, and that's another major reason why this film has become a big success: both critically as well as commercially. TOILET rests on a concept which he have all heard about till now, but came with no solution at all. The film provides solutions, and they're not at all difficult to follow. It holds an awareness quotient which makes it worth showing to all the age groups of society, including kids.The writers must be praised for adding multiple clapworthy scenes and dialogues in the film, especially in the second half. Director Shree Narayan Singh directs the film well, and this is evident from the overall handling of the film.Akshay Kumar is in his top form as always; he plays his part extremely well. He'll make you laugh in the comic scenes, as well as be emotional during multiple sequences. My favourite and the best scene is in the second half, in which he takes the lead and goes on to deliver a hard hitting dialogue which itself summarises the theme of the film. I loved that scene extremely; I even felt emotional and angry while watching it. Bhoomi Pednekar, however disappoints slightly in the first hour when her dialogue delivery seems theatrical and amateurish, but as the film begins to gain its momentum from the first half, she delivers an excellent act, perhaps the best one from a Bollywood actress till date. Divyendu Sharma does a great job and his comedy entertains. Another major credit should go to Sudhir Pandey for his incredible performance: I really hated his character, and many others might have felt the same way too. Anupam Kher does a crucial job in the film, and so does the rest of the cast. The screenplay is well written, but it's only after the introduction that the real story begins to shape up. And when it does, it transforms into something you wanted, but not something you would have expected to go this high. The interval blockade is simply impressive, and the climax: impressive too!The only problem is with the editing in the first half. The romantic portions go on too long, and this "Bollywoodization" doesn't seriously work, though many scenes work due to their sheer intensity and humour. The music is just fine but not memorable, as it only enhances the screenplay occasionally. But the overall quality can help you ignore the minor flaws the film has. TOILET - EK PREM KATHA is a milestone in terms of "Films which redefine Indian Cinema." Mark my words: it's not just a film but also an effective example of developing awareness towards curbing down open defecation in India. I hope this film succeeds in spreading its message even wider and higher.

mukherjeediptendu Toilet:ek prem katha based around a true event of a village in India and shows the true nature of a part of Indian superstition....This movie is a very comedic heart felt romance drama which surrounds the true nature of those villagers and what motivated to them to do that decade after decade...Toilet tells us story of a village which does not have a single toilet and one man's love story which is at stake for that and the motivation of this superstition of not having a toilet in your own house...With all that this movie is very well directed and written.. It shows every aspect of the problem in a very rich way which will make you know and see better how it can be stopped or continued... The dialogues in this movie is as good as it can get... Acting is just awesome... The romance between two leads are very well done.. the music and songs are good and also flows with the film..There are few problems like the supporting character beside the main male lead sometimes do something which have to be motivated but seems pretty badly scripted not motivated at all... And the very ending of the movie seems rushed... Other than that this is a well directed damn good movie which needed to be shown into the as wider audiences as possible and a story needed to be told..... 7.9/10......
