Harockerce What a beautiful movie!
Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Scotty Burke It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
Uriah43 All "Norma" (Nichole Hiltz) wanted was a chance to get out from the trailer park she lived in and start a new life with her boyfriend. But when he comes to visit her, he is accidentally killed by the trailer park ruffians and she believes that her chance is gone forever. The devil then appears and convinces her that she can have revenge on those who took away her golden opportunity in exchange for her soul. So she accepts the weapon the devil gives her and kills all the residents of the trailer park. After that she burns the trailer park down and kills herself. Many years later a church van full of troubled young adults gets caught in a storm and comes to a stop near that same trailer park which has mysteriously reappeared. And Norma is there to greet them. Anyway, rather than reveal the surprises which follow I will just say that this was a surprisingly good movie which contains both horror and gore in equal measures. It also has some very dark humor throughout, along with some very graphic scenes which might not appeal to those unaccustomed to a violent gore-fest of this type. The fact that it was nominated for a "Fangoria Chainsaw Award" in 2009 should be a clear indicator that this film is definitely not for the squeamish.
Scott LeBrun Hicks and horror sure seem to go hand in hand. Being at the mercy of stereotypically sleazy and sadistic backwoods boors has been a theme in movies going back a long way; as the hayseed horror hosts at the beginning say, we have Herschell Gordon Lewis and "Two Thousand Maniacs!" to thank for that. Our protagonists this time are a troubled bunch of kids being chaperoned by a well meaning pastor; they have a bus accident in the rain and come upon the trailer park of the title, which the audience already knows, from watching the extended prologue, has a tragic history. Now the undead redneck residents are going to have themselves some fun torturing these poor dumb schmucks. At least with this gang, there's no guarantee of who will make it out alive if indeed anybody does. Based on the comic book series of the same name, this production sure creates just the right look for this show, with some juicy atmosphere. The music is pretty kick ass, with the character of Roach, played by Myk Watford, sometimes breaking into song. Country music star Trace Adkins, who co-stars as the mysterious stranger, also supplies the ditty "Welcome to Hell". Rabid horror fans will dig the shameless, in your face gore fest that "Trailer Park of Terror" ultimately turns into. The cast is populated with some familiar faces and some not so familiar: Rob Zombie regular Lew Temple is Marv, super sexy Nichole Hiltz ("May") is the young Norma who sets the plot in motion, extremely delectable stunt woman / actress Michelle Lee is Miss China, the lovely Priscilla Barnes ("The Devil's Rejects", 'Three's Company') the ill-fated Mama, Duane Whitaker ("Pulp Fiction", "From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money") the creepy Sheriff Keys, and ubiquitous "Hey, it's that guy!" actor Tracey Walter is the "ancient" trucker. Provided all of this is to your tastes, this is a good deal of depraved, demented fun, that's pretty relentless once it really gets going. An undeniable highlight is seeing one of the victims being flayed and eventually deep fried. "Trailer Park of Terror" comes highly recommended. Eight out of 10.
tommywilley47 I'm only scoring it as high as i am cause it did have a lot of gore in it which was a plus for me. everything else was absolutely lame. i felt like i was watching an episode of jerry springer in hell. i felt like i was dumber than i already am for watching this and i will do whatever i can to not see it again anytime soon. the gore was cool but the rest was absolute garbage. id rather stare at the microwave or pass a kidney stone.i guess the psycho billy music was kind of cool. i do like some psycho billy from time to time. i am just not into the whole white trash, hooker stuff. the old dumpy fat woman who wanted meat all the time was a little amusing. i say if you are really desperate give this movie a go but don't say i didn't warn you.
kobesko-chris I watched this movie the other night and it was not one that I would have picked based on title and name. I was very surprised in that even the acting was descent and the make-up very well done. If you are in the mood for fun and gore give it a shot, top 5 zombie movies in my opinion. The cinematography was also very pleasing to the eye and set the tone for the movie very well. Not many zombie movies have such a well developed plot and this one seems to draw one in. I am a big fan of Dead Snow as well and I think it is right up there with that movie and it even gives Zombieland a good run for its money. So if u have a flair for hillbilly's and zombies give it a look!
