Helloturia I have absolutely never seen anything like this movie before. You have to see this movie.
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Suryanarayanan Movie is about the Indian cinema. Both Mohanlal and Srinivasan at their best. Movie has got an awesome story line,it shows ups and downs faced by movie artists to get a good movie into the big screens. Some comedy scenes were so good that i fell off the chair laughing and trust me,i laugh every time i watch it again. Srinivasan has once again proved that humor can make a movie brilliant. With a very good script, this movie provides a very good mix of the comedy, the struggles,a mans sorrow becoming others joy,all these elements have been shown with a lot a grace. The movie has a message,it says that hard work pays no matter how long it takes and that cheating someone is cheating yourself someday you will come to know. The movie is a complete package making it an exceptional movie, its something i would love to keeping a collection of memorable movies i have seen.
Vijaymohan c This is an amazing movie. I'm glad Mohanlal finally got a role that suited his age! I was actually fed up of him portraying larger than life kind of roles. This is a Malayalam ver of Bowfinger- n guess what?!- it's better! N actually... if one sums it up- the feel is way different from the original. Here's finally one amazing movie... really good. Some hard core Mammootty fans wouldn't like it though... cos' many have formed a negativity towards Mohanlal- an outcome due to the constant comparison in between them by fans. I know this is kinda cheap... but it's true! There's this scene in which Mohanlal seems to have... not acted properly. The one where he shouts, "I've finally got the Climax sequence!" That part... seems clumsy... but here's the point- don't people get clumsy? In this movie... he's playing a comparatively real character... so... I don't find any flaw in that scene.Later on... Mohanlal just proves why he's one of the Best of The Best in the country. Amazing acting...! Some would believe Sreenivasan has stolen the show... but that's not true. Some may feel it that way just because Sreenivasan's character is more colorful. Actually, it's Mohanlal all the way...I just loved the move... the way the movie turned in the end... every part of it! An enjoyable ride. I'm glad that Mohanlal acted in at least one movie (off late) that justifies his supremacy.I'm just waiting for the DVD to be released- I'll surely buy it!
ajitkrishna The movie shows glimpses of the magic that happens when Mohanlal and Srinivasan get together. My opinion is that they have been more entertaining in the past, but this movie is a rare treat in recent times. Srinivasan's son gets to sing a good song, that has become a hit. It brings back memories of the old songs, and Srinivasan is hilarious in the sequences. Mohanlal has a fairly serious role, not given to antics as in the past. Jagathy Sreekumar is watchable, and as usual, given to over acting. He is an actor with great talent, and I wonder why he has to continue to use the cheaper gimmicks to exhibit "comedy". Meena is adequate as the romantic fluff.Altogether a watchable movie, worth the money.
v73k2001 This is not the first time a super hit is born in Malayalam out of a Hollywood flick. Udayananu Tharam is a smart lift from the Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy movie 'Bowfinger'.Except for the stealing of Udayabhanu's script by Rajappan, the rest of the plot is very much similar to Bowfinger. Instead of the flopped director in Bowfinger, you have an aspiring assistant director in the Malayalam film. The superstar Kit Ramsey in Bowfinger becomes Saroj Kumar in Udayananu Tharam. And here too, the film's climax is being filmed without the actor being aware of it.Ironical that a film that centers around copying of a script itself is a take-off of another film!
