The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

Just unwatchable, not a dialogue, an action, an ending...

Dreadful. If I hadn't read up on this atrocity beforehand and vaguely knew what was going on, I would have been as lost as if viewing a student film made in Hungarian. OK, I am not totally stupid, I DO appreciate an artsy meaningless movie, and it had some nice scenery and special effects. But it was very dull, almost impossible to parse the thick Scottish accents, and left so many unanswered questions it was ridiculous. I understand this movie was popular mostly because the flavor of the month appears naked. If that floats your boat, there's maybe 30 seconds of that. Enjoy. We put it on fast-forward about halfway through just to see if anything was going to happen. It didn't, though the ending was very satisfying. To me. Also: poor baby! :-(

The worst part about the movie, isn't the incredibly slow scenes.. where you are shouting at the film "OKAY I GET IT!! MOVE ON!!"
It's that you WANT to watch the actual movie!! It's like you're waiting on the film to start and it never truly does. Instead you are stuck staring at clouds and listening to piano music. Is the music pretty? Yes. But am I watching this film FOR the music? No. I want to see some aliens. I want to see more of the story. I don't need bombs exploding to get my attention, but I DO need more than the same scene repeated over and over.. and over.. and over. I mean- essentially we just stare at ScarJo's body and face the entire time with no real progression to the story line. That's not a problem, because she is beautiful.. right? It's really low hanging fruit to just have naked people in a movie for the sake of having naked people in a movie. I assume anyone watching this movie and "LOVING" it.. just really loves to see some boobies/booties and everything in between.
And everyone else is trying to just be as pretentious as the director. I have seen art in movies.. and real, *moving* music paired with really emotional scenes. This was just.. so boring. So .. so boring. I found myself wanting to open my tablet and check my email.. go make another coffee. It could not hold my attention and I usually love indie films. This one just did not do it for me.

I just couldn't with the movie, maybe I should rewatch it when I am more alert, but the driving around in silence just killed me. I get the point of the movie, but the presentation just became a little too arthouse for me. I will say it's aptly named though as it did get under my skin, just not in a way I was expecting.
