AboveDeepBuggy Some things I liked some I did not.
Rijndri Load of rubbish!!
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Skyler Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
sowmiyainternational As you may know, "Veronica Mars" is the highest profile movie to date to be financed via Kickstarter, a crowdfunding service that's like a glorified version of tossing money in a street musician's hat. It's the perfect project to be funded in such a manner because it's based on a program that was beloved but never widely seen. I can't imagine anyone who liked the show not enjoying this film, even though the first half is stronger than the second, which spirals into a frenzy of double- and triple-crossing that's less engaging than watching the characters reconnect, awkwardly but with feeling. It's aimed at a particular audience with particular needs and satisfies them. It may be the ultimate example of what's known as "fan service." Its pleasures include emotionally resonant pop music, widescreen color-noir photography (by Ben Kutchins), and a big cast full of smart actors playing sharply defined, still-surprising characters. First among equals are Bell, who's as tough and sexy as an actress can be while still reading as decent; Colantoni, who seems incapable of hitting a false note, and Dohring, whose acting always had a touch of the young Mickey Rourke's contemptuous self-awareness, and used it to fool viewers who thought they had Logan figured out. (He's the punk preppy Heathcliff.) All in all, the movie delivers what you expect, but not in the way you expect it. That makes it work as both a long-delayed if abbreviated fourth chapter in Veronica's story, and a rare big-screen version of a TV show that rethinks its source rather than merely recycling it. Watch, for example, how the film deals with the reunion itself, which was presented in advance PR as the central event in the film. It both like the rest of the movie, it uses digital technology, including smart phones, texting and streaming video, as a means of advancing the story and commenting on what has changed and what has remained constant.Somiyainternational, Screenwriter, www.filmdonation.com
mistoppi First of all, I haven't watched Veronica Mars TV show - ever. That's why it might be a huge mistake to watch the movie, right? I didn't know any of the characters, I didn't what had happened before... Luckily for all the viewers like me, there was a quick sum up in the beginning - what was the TV show about, the basics. It was helpful, and it made me feel less ignorant.I'll shortly comment on the techniques: cinematography was decent, but not excellent. Songs used were good, but otherwise the soundtrack was quite boring. I don't even remember what kind of music there was - and tells a lot.The murder seemed interesting, but not really a movie material. It felt too simple and almost... normal. It felt like it could've been just an episode of the show, which is of course understandable. At points I was actually waiting for a commercial break. It got more complicated luckily, but it still felt like something was missing. I was hoping for something darker. I didn't get much out of this movie. It felt bland, and not what I'd want from a murder mystery. It felt mild. I have a feeling you need to be a fan to appreciate this.
Human Watt It's always like this: A smart-ass girl/boy/teen/guy with some instincts/talents/whatever solves a stupid puzzle. What's the point? To keep the audiences entertained? Or to humiliate them? It's funny how people support this stupidity. I don't mean the backers, but those who maintain the rating of this master-shite about 7. Innovation is dead. People think they are innovative but they don't know even the basic factors. Their target in kickstarter was about 2,000,000 dollars, but out of the blue they ended up with nearly 6,000,000. But it's funny to see the whole movie is flourished by SAMSUNG. Yes my friend! It's all about money! They reproduce the same old shite in different colors over and over. If you want to make a comedy go watch The Big Lebowski, Groundhog Day, Annie hall, etc., and learn something. If you cannot make something better than those movies at least try not to disrespect the audience. How Veronica Mars wakes up at the end of the movie with a pretty sharp make up. Even the black material in her eyes is not messed up! I believe there are two types of audiences these days, those who crave for movies like this and those who don't. The second group are always the victims! By the way, which part of the movie was funny? Why it's labeled comedy?
bjarias Tens of thousands of movies get made every year, most all of them are not worth the effort. Add this one to the list. The original series was way drawn out and rightfully ended sooner than expected.. and this film, well was totally unnecessary. It's not bad, just adds nothing and is uninteresting.. milking what had been already over-milked. The series was canceled after just three seasons, Thomas then wrote the film script continuing the storyline, which Warner Bros. opted not to fund. Bell and Thomas then launch a fund-raising campaign to produce the film through Kickstarter and accumulated almost $6 million. Released March, 2014.. to date it's grossed only $3.5 million worldwide.
