The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

Alright, I watched the first and second Wishmaster and I enjoyed both movies.Let's be honest, those are not great movies, and technically not good, but enjoyable: cheesy on many levels, stereotypical of b-series horror movies with a dash of comedy, on the wholesome, enjoyable, not good. But this pile of... well, brown matter that would definitely attract dung beetles and flies galore was just awful...The problem of many B-series as of late, say for the past 20 years, is the obvious influence that Buffy or Charmed had on some directors or writers, drowning the horror-comedy aspect (why did you have to go with that angel OR THOSE VOICES FOR THE TWO ADVERSARIES or that stupid sword fight), which is bad, m'kayyyyy. Second, changing the make-up and look of the Djinn, making it look... Faker then the two previous movies, how is that even possible. Not to mention how they try to make the story seem serious which is *buzzer sound* NOPE, THIS IS NOT THE WAY, that's a huge buzz-kill. It's a B-movie, it's supposed to be slightly ridicule, cheesy and hardly believable which is then redeemed by the villain, him killing his audience with cracks, literally and main protagonist. But trying to turn it into something to be taken seriously, character wise and story wise in a bad setting, is baaaad, m'kay?! Especially when there's bad directing, bad acting, low budget and bad effects/make-up: If it's not cheesy, it's even lower then porn.It felt like watching Hellraiser Hellworld or that other one: Revelations. In fact, here's another thing that really ticks me off, WHY THE HELL (see what I did there? hell, *chuckles*) MUST IT BE A FREAKING FEMALE PROTAGONIST IN ALL THESE HORROR TITLES, WHYYYY!?! AND THE BAD ACTING DRAMATIC WHINY WINONA RYDER TYPE WITH LESS EMOTION!? Why a high school, a college, teenagers or a suburb, why not in freaking SPACE or in Las Vegas or even Rome!? Anyways, I could go on explaining how this movie goes wrong so many times in so many ways, I'll just say this, if you enjoyed the movie, good on you, I don't know how you do it. If you want to spare yourself the torture of watching this or the fast-forward-fest, skipping through all the bad only the get... well, not even a scrap of good, don't watch, go watch the first and/or second one then skip on that one, HECK, after seeing the fourth which I won't bother to write a critic about, just walk straight on by and avoid both the turd (see what I did there, 3rd, turd... anyways) and the fourth. Spare yourself, run for your life.

After finding a sacred jewel, a troubled college student learns she has unleashed a powerful Djinn who begins to terrorize her friends around campus to get her to free other enslaved beings like him and forces her to stop him. This turned out to be quite a decent if slightly flawed effort. One of the better aspects here is the fact that, despite the rather limited amount of action here this one still manages to remain pretty interesting throughout here by keeping up a solid, workable pace that keeps things moving along. The discovery is made quite early on and it's a short time after when the true threat of his deceiving is revealed which makes his threat somewhat constant around them so that keeps the first half going pretty smoothly with the different displays of his possession on both her friends and students which makes these quite fun with all the temptations to his new identity going over their heads. Those play into the fact that the second half is built a lot more on the chase established from these scenes as the race to her him under control and stop tormenting her friends, and the action scenes here which includes the church ambush with its resulting spiritually-charged battle, the battle in the dorms and finally the big car chase which all plays together into some fun times throughout here. These here do manage to help this out and overcome its flaws but there are still a few prominent ones here. The most notable one here is the fact that there's so little interest in the threat generated here despite the fact that the creature is trying to overthrow the world yet it never really gives that off in how relaxed they are towards his taunting behavior towards them and how long the whole thing takes to sink in for the group to believe. It may actually have gone over better if the Djinn had any real motivating factor here, as all he does is go after the friends when he has a connection with her and could find her immediately so playing around how lamely he does here just doesn't come off well. The last area here that's quite weak is the finale, which is way too abrupt and doesn't really resolve any of the story lines featured, even her back- story that wit was setting up from the start. Otherwise, there's not a whole lot really wrong here and it's much better than expected.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Language, Brief Nudity, and a brief sex scene.

I won't watch this film without the sound turned off, the stereo pounding out punk rock and at least a fifth of whiskey in my hand. However, the beautiful creature suit for the djinn itself held out well enough to be used again in Wishmaster 4, so at least the creature effects crew and I did our job well. Say that about the writers and actors, if you can keep a straight face. This film bought me an air conditioner for my car, and for that I love it. But really folks, we came to see the djinn, not the sexual-predator college professor he was pretending to be. Only five minutes of screen time for my beautiful djinn suit...sickening. Josh and the guys who made that monster so real and so scary, we were all disappointed that you almost never see the djinn in his real form. I agree, the new actor couldn't hold a candle to the original, but hey, the new guy worked for A lot less money. I'd tell you to buy this direct to video (as part of the collection) but A: I don't even own it myself, and B: I don't get any royalties. This is schlock worthy of Troma (who are also a great bunch of guys to work with!). My vote is 10 for the crew and 1 for the writers and actors.

I wasn't expecting a lot from this movie since I saw the IMDb rating before renting it. Although I still tried it out since the rating of horror movies are usually always low. That's were I was wrong. The rating can be very accurate sometimes, if not higher than it should be. Because this was one lame movie.First thing that I hated from Wishmaster 3, is the fact that Andrew Divoff wasn't cast as the Djinn. Instead, there's this weird, old guy who definitely doesn't match up to Divoff. I also hated the fact that the stone suddenly changed places. I think maybe because it was a different Djinn or something, but I still didn't like it.The only reason I gave this movie a 2 and not a 1 because I enjoyed some of the wishes. For example, the weight-loss and heart-breaking ones were cool. And also because it has the most disturbing death in the Wishmaster series; the rat scene. That made me shiver and I couldn't even imagine the pain that she went through before she died.Besides that, I found this movie pretty boring and stupid. I'd still rent it if you enjoyed the first two. Maybe you happen to like it. It didn't happen to me though, so it's your risk.
