2006, a mysterious mining accident in a remote territory unleashes an unspeakable horror that creates a zombie horde with an appetite for human flesh. It decimates large portions of the country. The only course of action is to rapidly enclose the infected areas and seal them off from the rest of the remaining, living population. NOW. 15 years later the tattered remains of the government and the mining corporation responsible where the initial event took place commit themselves to finding out what may have happened at the mining complex. The solution is to send in a group of mercenaries and scientists into the quarantined zone to find answers.

Reviews

Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Cissy Évelyne It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Mikelikesnotlikes I watch every zombie flick I can find as long as the review is passable. This one is definitely passable, but nothing special. The film is set in Chile. It is low budget and in a foreign language (Spanish) which helps you forgive some of the sub-par acting as it is amusing when the translations come through a bit twisted. There's nothing more embarrassing than your own country men screwing up their lines and badly portraying their character into the bargain so I wouldn't be as forgiving if this were an American British or Aussie film. I think it would make a very good primer for film students to study and suggest changes to pacing and plot amongst other film-making do's and don't's.In all a good try with some definite skills coming through where budget ($22,000) was overcome by a good Director and Editor.
Philip King Two reviews as i type this so far, one says trash the other says better then expected and i 100% agree with the latter. After seeing the budget which seems crazy low i wasn't expecting a lot, then the thrilling opening scene and the gun fire effects as someone else also mentioned before caught my attention straight away. The movie kinda stalls part way through with bickering amongst the soldiers being the main story then but it was still very entertaining and one of the better zombie/infected movies.I would like to see a prequel and/or a sequel to this as i think they could have gone deeper into the story and studied the origins of the outbreak in more detail. So over all this was a nice surprise just when i thought i had seen all of the best Zombie/Infected movies.
Brooke G Previous reviewer called this amateurish trash, he obviously has not seen many movies and certainly not many zombie/infected movies, It isn't World War Z or 28 Days/Weeks Later but i could probably list 100 movies in this genre alone that are worse and more amateur than this that have over 50 times the budget this has.I was not expecting much from this movie especially when i saw the budget was ONLY $600, i still find it hard to believe it was only $600 considering the quality and effects. The explosions and blood effects alone were pretty good and the effects the guns shots had were pretty neat with blood and dust flying up. The acting is gritty and not bad at all especially when you see that the cast have hardly done anything before. Everything you read about this movie tells you it is very amateur but everything you see in the movie doesn't look so amateur. Which leads me to think he didn't actually watch the movie lol.Anyway after the exciting opening scene things slow down a bit as it jumps 15 years forwards. By that time the infected would or should have decomposed and died out and a group of so called mercenaries and scientists finally decide to go and check the quarantined area out to try and find out what happened. Once inside the area they find they are not alone and meet with some resistance as well as unrest within the team. The movie picks up a bit again about half way through. Some of the script is lame but again the people behind the scenes of the movie (Directors, Writers etc) have done very little else so this is still a decent effort for what is a 1st time project for some of them. This is one of the better Zombie/Infected movies especially with the budget and experience they had and believe me there is a lot of trash ones out there and they don't come much worse than Killing Spree , check that out if you want to see amateur awful movie lol. This one will sit proudly in my ever growing list of Zombie movies seen. :)
Claudio Carvalho In 2006, people somehow is infected turning into zombies in a country (Chile?) and the area is evacuated; then it is isolated and the zombies and a few survivors are sealed off in this no man's land Fifteen years later, a group of mercenaries led by Colonel Rainoff (Cristian Ramos) are assigned to protect the scientists Elisa (Pamela Rojas) and Cornellius (Christopher Offermann) that will research the area in a journey of horror, death and betrayal."Zombie Dawn" is an awful amateurish trash. The story, screenplay and narrative are garbage with worthless and unpleasant characters that betray each other. The music score is annoying. I do not believe that I have spent 83 minutes of my life watching to this trash. My vote is one (awful).Title (Brazil): "Amanhecer Zumbi" ("Zombie Dawn")
