Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
Luecarou What begins as a feel-good-human-interest story turns into a mystery, then a tragedy, and ultimately an outrage.
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Craig Thompson What a show! Leigh Francis has done it again incorperating his Bo' Selecta chums in this fabulous show. This time, we follow the bear as he eats, swears, drinks and pervs. Advanced puppets and slick CGI makes me feel that the bear is actually walking, talking and sitting thanks to the work gone into this series. When the Bear is adopted by Helena (Patsy Kensit) and Richard (Sean Pertwee) he takes his new life by the hairy sack and leaves a trail of shock and cheekiness along the way.Of course, what would Bear's Tail be without the Bear's rubber faced friends? The old classics return like Mel B, Micahel Jackson and Craig David, without paving over the newbies, like Parkinson, Jimmy Carr and Keith Lemon's lower part of his face. A fabulous series. Buy the DVD, it's shatpank!
Jackson Booth-Millard If you have ever tried Bo' Selecta! Believe me, you should, then you would know the character star of this sitcom like sketch show. The Bear (Leigh Francis) lives with his TV Mum (Patsy Kensit), Dad (Sean Pertwee) and sister Lillian Hennerson (Yasmin Kerr). Throughout the show we see Bear get into many situations, some that the scriptwriter (Dexter Fletcher) has written in. In the end it ends happily and Mum and Dad get married. Francis also plays Keith Lemmon and a transsexual neighbour. She lives with fellow transsexual Dave Ian McCall (Davina McCall) who also marry each other. But throughout the show we also see new and favourite Bo' Selecta! characters, including Avid Merrion with wife and sister Sacha (Barunka O'Shaughnessy), Craig David, Michael Jackson, Mel B, Corey Hem, Sir Elton John, George Michael, Boy George, Dale Winton and Michael Parkinson. With guests Jon Culshaw (playing Sir Trevor McDonald), Melanie Brown (Mel B), Jodie Marsh, Jordan (Katie Price), Kelly Osbourne and The Black Eyed Peas. Avid Merrion was number 27 on The World's Greatest Comedy Characters. Very good!
ciaranfleck It's sad to see that Leigh Francis feels he needs to branch into a new comedy medium because he failed miserably. I never really liked the Bear but this was just unforgivably bad. The acting was horrible, and its sad to see Patsy Kensit stooping so low till by the end of it, she has to kiss the bell end of the Bear's infamous erection.I thought Bo Selecta 1 and 2 were fantastically original and hilarious. Bo Selecta 3, with a new format change, just didn't live up to expectations and again was a big disappointment. From there, I thought Leigh would learn from his mistakes, and resurrect the old format that worked so well, but alas, no.In my opinion, dawn the rubber masks once more and lets resurrect the past, because after this, the future looks bleak.
MisterJuggins I didn't watch Bo Selecta! so didn't have time to get tired of Leigh Francis before watching this show. It seems to have got negative reviews everywhere, but I think it's by far the funniest show on television. In some ways reminiscent of shows like Sean Hughes's 'Sean's Show' or Garry Shandling's 'It's The Garry Shandling Show', it pushes the conventions of television comedy to breaking point, while remaining hysterically funny. It is impossible to summarize this programme without seeming gratuitously obscene, so I won't bother highlighting the best moments, but if you have a childish sense of humour and enjoy truly anarchic television, this is for you.
