Develiker terrible... so disappointed.
Colibel Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.
Spoonatects Am i the only one who thinks........Average?
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Asadullah Khan An extremely powerful samurai with an afro, hell bent on revenge, accompanied by a companion voiced by Samuel L Jackson himself, what's not to like. Story is a pretty straight forward revenge tale with some past mistakes and connections thrown in the mix. Great art style/graphics and often awesome gory/brutal action. Soundtrack is pretty good too, hip hop and whatnot, reminded me of Samurai Champloo.Samuel L Jackson voice acting was the best, typical nigga style with lots of humor. 7.5/10
TheSuccessorOfTheReaper I heard bunch of things about Afro Samurai before watching and also RZA factor was the major reason to found A.S. interesting. The story was so superficial that it looks like they suddenly found an idea and started drawing without thinking about the plot.Headband didn't amaze me from the first episode to the end(and also in the Resurrection). They couldn't reflect the power of headbands to us. And I learned that you can cut a man's head off with your gun.Music part is the best part of Afro. I know RZA is creative dude but I didn't expect this much. Soundtracks are really tight.Images are also good. They really visualized well but music and drawings aren't enough to save Afro.I was really bored and wasn't impressed but I cant tell it's a regret. I advise you to watch Afro Samurai. Maybe I expected more because I imagined differently.
ultamed Afro samurai was one of the better anime films I've watched. Although I found the plot simplistic (which can in some cases is good), the art work and script were "off the chain"...not to mention the soundtrack (had to make it my dojo's theme music). The first 5 episodes were entertaining but I must admit that the ending was somewhat....campy. This was (imho)due to a lack of character development of afro. Although the flashbacks give good insight into his evolution to reclaim the #2 headband...how he became such a formidable samurai without his father's instruction is not really addressed. More importantly the ending had a sort of "rabbit out of the hat trick" flavor to it. From my account the #1 beat him...impaling him through the head with...whatever that was. I've had to console myself by filling in the blanks with some very creative thinking on this matter...such as "he wasn't impaled..it just went through his 'fro' similar to the spears (episode 1)" this time the glancing blow drew blood from. Some more development of the #1 with insight as to who/what he was would have also enhanced the viewing. At any rate still one of my favorites...after the Ninja Scroll...would love to see Afro and Jubei have a go at it.
VILLAIN xx Afro Samurai is a TV mini series that is as cliché as it can possibly get when it comes to a tale about revenge. The main character himself is a bit shallow for the first 2 chapters and his side kick sounded like a typical loud mouth Samuel L Jackson (you either love that about SLJ or you don't). But I had to take a break from the story for a day. When i picked it back up in Chapter 3 the story finally reveals more about his life and others around him. I couldn't stop watching it from that point on.The animation itself is mediocre (some occasions that you can tell they put some effort into fluid of motion) but it's style of caricatures, color, special effects are top notch. If you're a hard core cartoon fan its worth a watch and perhaps worth throwing into your library like i have.
