Synopsis

Aladdin is an animated television series made by Walt Disney Television which aired from 1994 to 1995, based on the original 1992 feature. It was animated at the Slightly Offbeat Productions Studios in Penrose, Auckland, New Zealand. Coming on the heels of the direct-to-video sequel The Return of Jafar, the series picked up where that installment left off, with Aladdin now living in the palace, engaged to beautiful and spunky Princess Jasmine. "Al" and Jasmine went together into peril among sorcerers, monsters, thieves, and more. Monkey sidekick Abu, the animated Magic Carpet, and the fast-talking, shape-shifting Genie came along to help, as did sassy, complaining parrot Iago, formerly Jafar’s pet but now an antihero. Jafar, having previously been destroyed in the second movie, returns in only one episode which also serves as a crossover with Hercules: The Animated Series.

Reviews

ReaderKenka Let's be realistic.
Borgarkeri A bit overrated, but still an amazing film
Glucedee It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
Megan_Koumori Take the movie "Aladdin", kill Aladdin's personality, take away Robin Williams, mix bad animation with bad jokes, throw in boring plot lines, and basically you've got Aladdin the TV series. I don't what's worse: Aladdin the TV series, or Tarzan the TV series, which is basically a rip off of Aladdin. Do yourself a favor and watch "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command" instead. It's superior in every way.
cleobrody I Loved this series and looked forward to every episode. My favorite villain was Mozenrath... did you know that the third Aladdin movie was supposed to have Mozenrath as the "big bad" of the movie? But since they had robin williams back they didnt' really care what about the villain thing so they kind of threw that out the window.. i wish Mozie had gotten his chance..
maxvaughn This show had semi-good animation for what it was, but that was not what drew me in as a kid. The plot lines and dialogue were witty and action grabbing. The villains were possibly the best on TV at the time. Mozenrath was the greatest! Something I especially enjoyed were the little things thrown in from other movies or TV shows of that same genre. For example, there was an episode about the Blue Rose of Forgetfullness, which is an item from a movie called "The Thief of Bagdad". (By the way, if you watch "Thief of Bagdad", you'll see where Disney got most of their name ideas and character designs for the first Aladdin movie). Even though it's sort of a sad thing to admit, but when I was ten I ran home everyday to see this show. One of the things I liked the most was that every character was included at some point. Even the Sultan had a chance to be a hero every now and again.
Op_Prime This was a good series and a good adaptation of the popular films. There was a lot of action in this long running cartoon series as well as humor. Most of the cast from the movies were here for this series. While some were not, most notably of course would be Robin Williams who voiced the Genie in two of the movies. Dan Castellaneta (Homer from The Simpsons) came in to voice the Genie and in my opinion sounds a lot like Williams. A fun series for the entire family.
