Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

Best movie of this year hands down!

Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

Love Atlantis because it allows me to escape the boring mundane world I live in and join the characters on he adventure of a lifetime. I wish I could be there with them :)+ Beautiful imaginary/locations.
+ Great acting.
+ Captivating storyline.
+ Great characters.
+ Light hearted with bursts of comedy. Can't think of any negatives, apart from the fact that the BBC pulled the plug on this show after just 2 seasons.... come on....Please BBC bring back Atlantis! I really miss this show :(

What a fun show! Mocking and twisting up mythology, which amuses me. I am not into mythology so I do not feel insulted as some of the purist reviewers seem to be.
I so enjoy NOT watching dreary blood and guts, gratuitous explicit sex scenes, vulgar dialogue and car chases.
If that means I have the intellect of a 12-year old, then HOORAY. As a senior citizen, the graphic trash depicting evil simply disgusts and bores me.

I have just recently finished watching Atlantis and really enjoyed it. While Season 1 wasn't amazing, Season 2 was absolutely incredible!I recently became aware of the show and started watching it because I'm a big fan of fantasy shows (which there are not nearly enough of on TV), and because I was interested to see what they would do with the legend of Atlantis after doing pretty well with Merlin. Season 1, as mentioned in other reviews, is a little slow, cheesy/cringe worthy at times, and the writing/acting could be improved in parts. It was still enjoyable to watch to escape reality for a bit, and I felt it had a lot of potential - but it became a show I watched more when I wanted that TV escape for 40min without being addicted and feeling like I needed to watch more. Knowing it had been canceled before starting to watch it, at that stage, I though I understood why (particularly when compared to season 1 of Merlin - its predecessor). But Season 2 completely changed that! I think I watched season two in 3 days, I got so hooked on the story line and characters. At the end of season 1, I could see the start of where the show could go, and the show's directors/producers/writers did a fantastic job at building on it. Atlantis became an actual fantasy drama in season 2 - the plot was substantially better, as was the acting and writing, the characters all gained a lot more depth, and the themes the show explored were much more interesting. Overall it became very addicting, and I'm devastated that it was canceled, before the show could continue to grow in season 3 (or even that they couldn't film just a few more episodes to tie up some of the story lines they had done such a fantastic job at building!)For anyone considering watching this, if you are struggling with the first season, don't give up on it! If needed, skip to the last two episodes of season 1 and start from there. If you are looking for a solid and addicting fantasy drama, season 2 of Atlantis is well and truly worth watching!

"Atlantis" is a well-made, cleverly written, exciting adventure show. The diverse cast of characters are all well-acted, with action and plots well-executed. It's refreshing to have once again a virtuous hero (Jack Donnelly as Jason) with a female love interest (Aiysha Hart as Ariadne) who isn't trying to outdo and emasculate him like so many of the unlovable and unconvincing heroines way too prominent these days. The triumvirate of Jason and pals Pythagoras (Robert Ems) and Hercules (Mark Addy) though entirely different personalities have great chemistry, but of course Hercules will never be the same. The two villains of the piece (Sarah Parish as Pasiphae and Oliver Walker as Heparion) nearly steal the show, they do such a dastardly good job. It's a rousing, fantastic thoroughly enjoyable romp with enough thrills, danger, pathos and humor to keep viewers interested. My only criticism is that these ancient Greek era men should not be wearing toreador pants, otherwise the costumes and sets are up to par with the period. "Atlantis has some similarity in style to the old Kevin Sorbo Hercules series and the previous BBC "Merlin" but is far superior to both, especially in the acting and writing.
