This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Billie Morin
This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

Followed it to the end and loved it until the ending! What a bad ending and No release at all. What happened with the sherif, with the investigation- they let it go ? I need answers and not in a good Way - to Many holes in the storyline... Was tired of Norman in the last season and it finish with him. I understand the connection and What they want to show with it, but it seems they just wanted to end i Quickly... im so Disapointed. For Me it went from 8-9 Stars to 2-3...

I want to commend the producer, director, writers and actors that participated in this story of Bates Motel. As a family member with a loved one with mental illness, this hit home. I was surprised that a thriller slowly in the end became a plea for mental health awareness. I cried during the last episodes of the show. When a member of your family is tortured with mental illness you start to realize society is so short on the supply of help for them. Society demonizes them and as a family member, you realize they are good people but are being tortured with demons. Medicines help and good psychiatrists and counselors are here to try and combat these demons, which my family and I commend for so valiantly trying to combat. This is an illness that is very strong. This series was an eye awakening and I truly thank those who part of the show introduced these factors into the viewing public. Maybe something good will come out of this.

I turned this on casually one day (via Netflix) and became hooked from the first episode. The show is not childish, by any account, and bobs you through a series of twists, turns and cliffhangers that keep you wanting more. And I definitely don't take to things quickly.Although the show is highly concentrated on the intricate and extremely troubled mind of protagonist Norman Bates, the real star of the show, in my opinion, is Vera Farmiga as his mother, Norma. The versatility in her acting skills are phenomenal, and in many respects, she carries the show. The chemistry between her and co-star Freddie Highmore is a winner. Bravo to an all-star cast for their believable performances and brilliantly flawed characters. Definitely a winner by all standards!

I had seen bits and pieces of this show over the past couple years but it looked terrible. I never gave it a chance.
Well I was looking for something binge worthy on Netflix and the show came up and so I figured I'd give it a try. I binged the entire 5 seasons in a week. I really enjoyed the show and had tears in certain parts. I found it compelling and would recommend it to my friends who enjoy dark mysteries
