A Disappointing Continuation

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

I watch tons of movies and series, much too much honestly, but I have time enough and I love it so I'm not going to feel guilty about it. So I saw a lot of bad series, or series that I knew from the first episode on that it wouldn't be good. But with BrainDead I knew instantly that this was going to be great. Not very well known by the public, and that's a shame, because it's one of the best series I've seen in the last years. When you see that some series go on and on forever while they should just cancel them, and then you see a quality show like this one that probably will end after one season you know it's a shame. BrainDead has everything to be loved, a great script, a sense of humor that will make the most depressing people smile, a mild bit of horror, and a great cast. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a candy for the eye, but she's also funny and a good actress. Tony "Monk" Shalhoub is to me the funniest character of this show. I couldn't get enough of him and Johnny Ray Gill. The whole cast contributes to make this series a must-see. I really hope one day millions of people will discover this show and that the producers will have no other option than to continue with other seasons. I absolutly loved it.

The main problem with this show is that it doesn't know whether to take itself seriously or not, therefore we don't know whether to take it seriously or not - so it doesn't quite work as comedy OR drama. Quite enjoyable despite that and Mary Elizabeth Winstead is growing into a fine actor.

So naturally CBS had to cancel it because it seems most of the country is Brain Dead already on crappy reality TV shows. One can hope that this gem is picked up by Amazon originals or some Cable channel. It is possible the with the change in administration the writers were going to find it difficult to lampoon both sides as brilliantly as they did in the first season. If they find some Libertarian comic writers they should have no problem lampooning the majority parties equally. Oh and if they have to have a reality show make one called, "Brain Dead, Writers."

I don't know a lot about the political structure of the U.S.A. so I can honestly say that I don't see this show as a Republicans vs. Democrats (or vice-versa) bashing. There was someone who said it was all pro Democrats because you see Clinton; Sanders and Obama on TV. But there was also Donald Trump so I don't think there's any obvious bias there (or maybe there is - like I said, I don't know your political structure).Anyway, what I am seeing is a very cleverly written script with some interesting concepts."Space-ants" come to Earth and inhabit the brains of people (both politicians and non-politicians). They change the way people interact and it looks like they are set to take over the Earth as the dominant species. Some of the people who are not infected are trying to work out a way to save the Earth from the hostile take-over.At this stage, I'm only half-way through the first season and I can only hope that it either gets tied up with a very good conclusion or, goes on for a second season. It's funny; clever; fresh and, I think it's worth watching.
