Konterr Brilliant and touching
SteinMo What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
leighabc123 Spoilers Ahead! This was a cool show that came out in the mid 1980s. Jimmie Walker acted just like J.J. on Good Times in this show. This show had the same cute little youngest daughter pattern as "My Wife And Kids," "Bernie Mac Show," and "The Royal Family." I remember one episode of this show where "Thelma" from "Good Times" played one of the kid's teacher. It was the same plot and type of lines that J.J. and Thelma had on "Good Times!" It was so cool to see that. Aaron Lohr did play on Golden Grahmn commercials after this show. Whatever happened to Tyren Perry?
hillari This was yet another attempt at TV making a series from a movie. It was not successful. "Bustin' Loose" was not that good of a vehicle for Richard Pryor, who starred in the film. It was not a good fit for Jimmie "J.J." Walker, either. The TV plot was based on the same premise as the movie. A guy got caught doing something illegal, and was given the choice of going to jail or helping some troubled kids. Walker was supposed to be playing a con man, but I guess audiences could not get the J.J. Evans character from "Good Times" out of their minds. I remember the kids were stock characters: the cute one, the tough one, etc. A low laugh factor caused this show to die an early death.
