Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
MamaGravity good back-story, and good acting
Beystiman It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
David del Real A NEW LOOK AT THE CLASSIC ARTHURIAN TALECamelot gives some interesting turns to the classical story we have all known from childhood. Some of these turns , depending on the person, can be good or bad, but as a general commentary I want to say this series is completely worth-watching.In this review that is placed at the level of the general series, I want to give you my general feeling about the series. For more specific comments, please take a look at my reviews for specific episodes. With a "less than perfect" Merlin and a "very less than perfect" Arthur they found a formula for an interesting refresh of the old Arthurian legend. They also showed us the most evil, astute and mischievous Morgan that we have seen in a long, long time; a great villain.Nevertheless, in my opinion the series started becoming less interesting when the imperfections of Merlin and Arthur seemed so big that they did not seem similar at all to the incredibly high standard that we normally have of them.In essence, I would say it is definitely a series worth watching but be prepared if the first episodes make you very enthusiastic and the following chapters don't pay to your enthusiasm properly. Now, in my very personal opinion, I think that they had a chance at the mere beginning of making a very epic series but they only accomplished to give us a more or less interesting variation of a very epic classic story. I give them, nevertheless, a nine out of ten stars because of trying, because I believe that brave new versions most be highly encouraged, even when they don't pay enough; as in classic tales...bravery must be supported!!!Thanks for reading.IMDb review by David del Real Ciudad de México, México. ingusku Yes, we've heard that story for the dozen times, and yes, we love that story. It's telling us about the times of knights, magic, love and honor, who wouldn't? But please be careful in telling that us again and again, as we, audience, are not the fools. After all the stories we've heard, the movies we've seen and the tales we've imagined we became selective ones. If you have to tell us something new – please do it, if you can tell us same story in undiscovered point of view, we will be your audience, but if not, we are sorry for you; because of these ages of storytelling. What can I find new in these series? In fact, nothing, maybe one fact, that Guinevere was the fiancé of Leone, not Lancelot. Did I see spectacular work of the actors? Not actually, despite Joseph Fienes, sometimes it looks like he is enjoying his role and looking for someone who can maintain the story, sadly there are no more characters who can handle charms of the Merlin.Arthur looks like a boy, who cannot carry the sword in his arms and I truly do not understand why he is pictured as a favorite for a girls. He has no strength in his as well as I cannot find any charms of this character. Morgan is not as bad and unpleasant as you would expect. In fact, during the story you do not really care about any of them, despite, the Merlin. As I mentioned before, it is only one, live and truly charming character from all the mentioned and not above.I cannot stop myself from comparing these series to Merlin. The strong duo we could see in these ones is totally missed in Camelot, as well as interest of the lives of secondary's characters.I wouldn't recommend watching Camelot, as a really good series; unless you are fan of Joseph, as he is the only one in here to admit of doing great job. Of course, I did it, because of my curiosity of storytelling from different point of view. I did it to my disappointment.
elisanom The worst tales ever told of Camelot in the most dark, draggy and dull manner! And why must there be nudity when it serves no purpose whatsoever as it doesn't make the story any more interesting. A pity to waste the talents of great actors like Joseph Fiennes, Eva Green and Claire Forlaine to such poor screenplay.Merlin (Fiennes) in Camelot is not portrayed as the great magician or would-be great magician as have always been in previous productions. I believe this very much disappoints the audience especially those who are ardent fans of the tale.As much as the other Merlin series (Colin Morgan, Bradley James, Katie McGrath) has been classified as "B-Grade", it is way better in terms of story line & light-hearted script sprinkled with a dash of humor. Even the casting is good save for Guinevere (Angel Coulby)
wxfisch This show takes what is by far one of the greatest set of stories and legends and ruins it. The casting generally sucks and the writing is even worse. It gets four of my five stars goes to the fact that I kept watching no matter how bad it was. I have only seen four episodes though it the plot just isn't there, anywhere. That last star is for boobs. I find it very hard to believe that there was so much sex and nudity in the legends. Probably because there wasn't. There was courting sure, but not just outright sex sex sex sex sex. Its like half way through writing they realized that they had no idea what they wanted so they do what always works, add some boobs and wait for the ratings. That doesn't work for this type of show though, not when the general characters and story is already mostly understood (even if many of the stories are conflicting in the written tales). And Arther, who got fired over casting him? I mean what were you thinking?!?! He doesn't fit the role at all, he is weak and soft spoken and when he tries to assert himself or his authority (of which I'm not sure anyone at that time would ever have just taken at face value without a tad more of a back story) I find myself laughing. I know high schoolers today with better leadership qualities than he displays. That may be due to the writing but it appears more due to a poor fit from casting.Bottom Line: Not a great watch but you'll still keep watching it even after you don't really want to, oh, and make sure the kids have gone to bed when it comes on.
