Laikals The greatest movie ever made..!
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
mraculeated The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Darin One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
mehsaan2444 Entertaining as it is and the pazuzu episodes , simply awesome !
alindsay-al With John Constantine returning to DC TV recently I decided it was now time to watch the new cancelled Constantine show that only lasted one season. The premise of the show sees a man troubled by his past in touch with magic attempting to stop demons from causing chaos on earth. Matt Ryan plays John Constantine on the show and he is the perfect choice for the character, he has that cocky sarcastic charisma nailed and it allows him to own this whole show. He encapsulates the character perfectly and I am so happy they managed to continue using this character. I also liked his partner chas, he was a good character and I liked their friendship, my favourite episode was one that focused on his character which showed that I liked the character. However, I didn't really care for anyone else, zed is just a cliché female accomplice on the show and I felt she was very bland and that was a bad part of the show. Also I found the religious and police characters to be just either over the top or just full of bad acting. Also a lack of a stand out villain really hurts the show as you forget what the end goal really is. The story as mentioned is extremely episodic with situation of the week mentality and it just fails. It has such a repetitive feel that you wonder what the big plan for the show really was with not much indication. The script has some pretty decent humour in it as mentioned before, obviously the majority of it coming from Constantine himself. But the drama falls apart and that comes from the lack of stakes created through the plot that doesn't make you care. The style of the show is ambitious but it falls flat especially with some CGI that the budget didn't really have. Also the episodes feel very repetitive and not creative and this really hurts the show. Overall I love the main character but this show was disappointing and it was probably a good thing it got cancelled.
starlovely66 This was way better than I had expected... interesting plots, characters that grew as the series progressed, funny, the right side of scary... and huge potential for much more, that was much better, in series 2. So, why on earth was it cancelled after just one season? Oh wait the usual obsession with ratings... which we all know means money wasn't being made quite quick enough ... Thank goodness the TV execs of today weren't around during the inception of TV ... otherwise, heaven only knows which of the totally seminal and amazing favourites we love and know might have been cancelled due to initially low numbers. Sadly this is why TV is increasingly just more of the same... Such a shame no one had the guts to take a risk on a second series. TV execs could learn a thing or two from Constantine about what it means to take risks and be brave!
HannibalWendigo This show was amazing and sadly just like Hannibal was cancelled too soon. The show follows John Constantine (played by Matt Ryan) who is a paranormal investigator/exorcist who has to fight against "the rising darkness". The show sadly only lasted 13 episodes before being cancelled, but they were amazing. Matt Ryan is amazing as Constantine and one of the best casting choices I've ever seen in not only a show, but in comic book based media. The show has many other good performances from Harold Perrineau, Angelica Celaya, and Charles Halford. The episodes are great and we get to see John deal with all kinds of crazy demons and spirits. The theme song to the show is one of my favorite theme songs of all time. It is such a great show and I wish it wasn't cancelled, but John would later appear in an episode of Arrow so if you enjoy the show watch that episode. Overall I give it 8/10 for great acting and amazing episodes. There was really only one episode I didn't really like, but other than that it was amazing.I hope this review was helpful and if you decide to check it out I hope you enjoy it. (warning don't attempt exorcisms at home unless you are a trained professional.)
