Nice effects though.
Gutsycurene
Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Francene Odetta
It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

Damien ReviewI just watched this series. Lots of potential. Here are a few likes and dislikes:Characters. Bradley James in the title role is believable as Damien. He manages to convince us that on some level (his conscious) he is good, even though we know (and he suspects) he's the antichrist. By the time the scence at the wake rolls around you know his subconscious has other ideas as James delivers a subtle performance displaying the charisma and strength he'll use to become the political powerhouse prophesied. (That slight piece of dialogue reminded me of Tarantino). Good job with the accent, James.Ann Rutlegde played by Barbara Hershey is simple in her complexity. Like Damien, you can't hate the woman. Her fierceness as protector/believer; her maternal warmth met with the tough love for a child she hopes will become all he can be. This makes you understand and respect her decisions. Yet, with every scene you feel like you haven't scratched the surface of the character. It would have been a joy to watch her peel away the layers. Scott Wilson (Lyons) does his job as an understated baddie, while (Simone) Megalyn E.K. is given way too much as one of the biggest catalysts on Damien's journey. This character does not deserve that role. She feels forced upon the audience. The first episode felt in a hurry, but began to settle in around the 3rd episode. Setting. Set in NY? Doesn't feel like it. If you're mentioning NY as much as you did in the first two episodes then make it so. NY is a character all it's own and that did not come through on this set. Work with the location scouts from "Strain." The cinematographer, though, did their best to compensate and get us in the mood for the apocalypse.I have not written a review in a very, very, very long time. Nor have I written a review on something that no longers airs. It is my wish that this series be resurrected a la "Arrested Development." Cheers!

What does this show want to deliver? A story of the Antichrist in human form coming to terms with who he is at the age of 30.From what I know of The Omen, it wants to deliver shock and horror with jump scares. Something that just doesn't really attach itself well to the story of how the world ends. The way the show is made does nothing to offer repair to such an unhappy marriage of themes. It could have been an eerie telling of a man coping with a destiny he does not want, but it gets completely overshadowed by all the different factions and alliances that attempt to push him in different directions. There are simply too many characters pushed down the rabbit hole for any of their experiences and reflections to feel distinguishable and interesting. There's little to no real symbolism and the relationship between the characters introduced seem like that of any modern day television show. The witty down-to-earth co-worker, the random girl the protagonist gets to protect, the shady family friend in politics, etc. What is worse is that they all fade in and out of the story when they are needed for plot development. There's little nuance to any of the characters. Even Damien starts out as just a regular guy wanting nothing to do with it, and at some point he starts randomly switching between being psychotic and being his normal self. Towards the end of the season the screen writer seems to think the viewer will fall for it, if he keeps showing Damien in a position where he's just about to tip and "join the dark side" as it were, but it doesn't ever truly feel like an option, because of the way the character is built. This show should have doubled down on what it feels like to be Damien. Instead it lumps together almost all clichés in the horror genre and hopes for the best. The pacing should have been slower, the character development more important, and the politics at play could have been portrayed in a better way. Less oddly inconsistent assassins from the Vatican and more random encounters between Damien and regular people. Show me a rising distortion that edges towards the realization that this is not just a man we're dealing with. The 5 stars I gave because it isn't an all together bad show. But it makes sense to cancel it. It wasn't a story of the beginning of the end, and it wasn't a personal story of how it feels to be the sad devil. And it had to be either of those, rather than a poor attempt at a mix.

This was one of the amazing shows i have ever seen. People who are in to supernatural series should definitely watch this series. In some episodes the acting was poor and the actors delivered dialog poorly. The script lacked the depth expected. The effects are not much. I expected much horror but i ended up disappointed. Although it had lags at some places the series delivered the entertainment and excitement to satisfaction. I definitely enjoyed it more than Walking dead. Some one with not much exceptions could enjoy it more. Too bad it wont have season2, i urge the producers and directors to make the season 2 happen. Enjoyable to the end. :)

If you've seen the original Omen movies you've seen Damien. All this show does is rehash the same ideas and lines from the movie and then repeated over and over again, beaten to death in each and every episode. The original movies were great for introducing this style of story telling. The use of the unknown and subtle implication was great at the time. However in Damien the writers seem to depend on nothing more than creepiness, scary imagery, and nonsensical babble. When you watch an ongoing TV series you expect the characters to develop in some way, you expect a story to unfold to reveal a new world to you, but that just doesn't happen in Damien. The characters lack any actual motivation for why they do the things they do and you're just supposed to except that one person is crazy, another is obsessed, and another is devoted, and people just appear out of nowhere, with no rhyme or reason. Everything feels really forced and extremely stupid.I can see why it was canceled. It wasn't going anywhere.Unless you're into cheesy horror movies which just show creepy things repeatedly and you don't care for crappy dialog and next to zero plot then you're probably not going to enjoy Damien.
