SteinMo What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
richard-vanbekkum The theme is great, but to many secrets among the crew is too much of a coincidence. The techniques used are great, but the script could really have some improvement. After a few episodes I hoped to receive some extra info about the mysteries, but unfortunately this did not happen. I've seen a lot of sf-series. In fact almost all, but watching these episodes was once and a while even tough. I assume the script writers tried to give this season a lot of suspense and I have to admit that this really worked out. The actors performed great, so this makes it not completely bad. Please feel free to watch this one season series a I am really curious what you think of it. reg, Zpm ( Zero Point Module
ericozu Well, what's the difference between working in a coffee shop (no offense, I've had the job myself) and working on a NASA space ship? Um, according to this show there is none - as far as personality-types and life-dramas go. Why would NASA send such a bunch of fools on a space mission? Or let such a fool run the mission? They wouldn't and they don't. This show is not only unrealistic, it's pretty darn inane. It assumes that audiences tuning into a space exploration show want to spend half the time watching the characters in flashbacks prancing around swimming pools and locker rooms. When they do get to the ship, again, you get the feeling that they could have just as easily made the setting a coffee shop. Instead of systems failure, it could be that the latte machine is on the fritz. We could change "Donner get back to the ship. Donner, do you copy?!?!?!" to "Donner come out of the bathroom!!! Donner, customers are waiting!!!" We could change "do you always have to leave marks on my neck" to...Oh, that we can just leave the same! This show has a surprising amount of defenders here. Someone even said that the reason the characters are such tools are that "beta" wanted it that way. Well, that is a pretty neat excuse! No offense guys. We all have our guilty pleasures. I just don't see it. And I'll watch some pretty flawed stuff (Terra Nova, Caprica, SGU) so I have a high tolerance for imperfect sci-fi. I'm sorry but Defying Gravity is just downright awful. But someone should try this type of thing again with much better writer/producers (perhaps the Mars Trilogy).
Paulo Alegria This show could have been really great if the writers were more creative and have kept focus on the six-year mission through the solar system instead of the the extremely boring and absolutely uninteresting flashbacks. It's a mission through the solar system, obviously there must be something more interesting going on to tell than the pathetic frustrations of that horrible group of astronauts. The show looks good, it has a great art direction, it's really well produced and most actors are trying to do their job, but, unfortunately it's terribly hollow, uncreative and awfully written. More decent scenes of a solar system adventure and less flashbacks and lame crying babies drama, might have saved this series.
David Werwolf (Primus_Gladius) I am watching this series just now, on sick leave and I was searching for something new to watch. I must say, it is absolutely great show, with depth, and if one watches through it, this show ask some basic fundamental questions, every person should think of, and as him / herself. But the problem with corporate sociopaths is that they only see the money, and money is in reality shows, and series which basically are stupefied, shallow and fundamentally made in the same clichéd ways. Thus this show is canceled and so many others that are really crappy are still being made, even thou they should have been canceled after first few parts. I like a Sci-Fi shows, but there are very few out there which are good. Some people compare it with shows like Star Trek, or are hang up on trivial things, which are not even an issue. It is SCI-FI - - and science can be a bit made up. I mean first parts of Star Trek were Sci- Fi, made up and years later they became reality. So this problem so many smart behinds have, with communication delay. I would think that it is not a plot hole or an issue, because at the time this show is happening, these problems would be solved. "Your argument is invalid". Who knows what other advances we'll make, so bickering about trivial issues just shows that people miss the true depth of this show, the message. They actually have no "out of the box" thinking, nor they can actually think logically about Sci-Fi issues, ideas and fantasy - - - well sometime in the future - - our reality, even Star Trek is today science fiction - - but who's to say, that years from now, it would not be a reality in some form. We DEFINITELY are not alone - - that's for sure.I love the characters, their development, script, ideas, the camera work over all I like everything about this show, and I am very critical about "my shows".10/10 - - definitely
