Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

Good story, Not enough for a whole film

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

A beautiful use of the imaginative creations of one of the all time loved writes. Excellent writing and classic humor. Just when you think things get any weirder they do, but in the end it's all connected.

Todd Brotzman is having a bad day. His rent is overdue and his landlord is an aggressive, vindictive, destructive man. Then several people are gruesomely murdered in a suite at the hotel he works at and Todd is a prime suspect. When he gets home, he discovers an intruder in his apartment. The intruder is Dirk Gently, holistic detective. An entertaining TV series, based on the books by Douglas Adams. Takes some patience - Season 1 was initially intriguing, then irritatingly random and disjointed to the point of drifting aimlessly, but got quite exciting towards the end as the pieces all fell into place. Season 2 skipped the initial intrigue and went straight to the random part, but, then, as with Season 1, the pieces fell into place and the final few episodes were quite interesting. Not compelling viewing though, due to the engagement level being limited. The randomness contributes to this but one of the main problems is Dirk Gently himself, played by Samuel Barnett. Dirk Gently is an annoying character, overly exuberant and nerdy. Fortunately some of the secondary characters (eg Farah, the Rowdy Three) are quite engaging, but being secondary, they have less screentime. My personal favourite was Bart, the holistic assassin, played by Fiona Dourif, but, unfortunately, she has even less screentime than most., especially in Season 2. This mixed engagement has the effect of me often zoning out in scenes involving Dirk Gently and then switching back on for Bart scenes, or Rowdy Three scenes, or Farah scenes. Also, tonally the series was a bit off. The books were hilariously funny and I expected the same from this series. While it is light and occasionally humorous, it is also quite dark and filled with killing, often gruesome, graphic, unexpected and of a character that one had grown to like. So, ultimately, a bit of a mixed bag, and never a series where I couldn't wait for the next episode.

Simply amazing, definitely worth a third season!
Camera work is brilliant, as is the cinematography. The casting is on point, and the plot is so clever and interesting.

I don't think I ever enjoyed a TV series as I enjoyed this one.Funny, lovable characters. original plot, everything you need.
The plot is very complex, but has no holes, everything makes sense (at the end, at least), and each character adds something to it.Just watch it. like, now!
