Matrixston Wow! Such a good movie.
Boobirt Stylish but barely mediocre overall
SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
pjpinc-29899 This is absurd the war on drugs and always spotlighting the war on drugs and drug lords. Bashing Mexico and so forth. The Pharmaceutical companies are the biggest drug dealers in the world by far. Their drugs do more harm and kill more people than any illegal drug trade. All of which can be found online. Why are opioids still being prescribed? It's HEROIN people. And killing innocent people. Drugs, Inc was lame. Dope was lame. Do a true 100% factual documentary on the legal pharmaceutical drug trade. Then I'd be interested.
imdb-3918 I'm not voting a score because I only watched part of the first episode that Netflix presented for this rising show. The episode was about the drug Krokodil. The injuries they showed on-screen, specifically the girl in Russia screaming in pain who literally had bones for arms with all of the meat cleanly eaten off, was enough to make me switch off. And I tend to get into gruesome stuff. I assume that other episodes have more merit and less gore, but this was the kind of thing that you really can't unsee. OK, I'll type another line so I can submit this review, finally.Another line. Ready?
anarchyclub72 The show gives you a comprehensive look into the lives of people involved in the drug trade. Including law enforcement, dealers, and addicts. There's no political spin regarding the drugs or their effects on the user, what you see is what you get. However, when the show tries to talk about firearms there's always misinformation and a political message. For example, in Season 5 Episode 5 there are numerous references to "assault weapons." There's no such thing as an assault weapon. It's a term that was made up and used by gun control proponents in the 90's. In the same episode they say rifle cartridges that are "full metal jacket" are "armor piercing cop killers." This is also false. FMJ is standard ammunition and is not specifically designed to pierce armor. I just wish they'd get their facts straight before airing the episode. I can excuse incorrect terminology, but when you're spreading blatantly false information to make firearms seem scarier it's just ridiculous.
Calypso0132 "Drugs, Inc" presents a very neutral view on a very controversial subject - drugs. In four parts, they review Cocaine, Meth, Heroin, and Marijuana. They show all aspects of these subjects - Heroin, for example, shows everyone involved in the trade from the poppy growers in Afghanistan, the ways smugglers are detected, the dealers who sell it on the streets, and of course, the addicts themselves. This series of documentaries is very emotionally compelling, and even as a teenager, they discouraged me from ever thinking about touching so-called "hard drugs". What they put in these shows are the straight facts, and the ways they affect people. Without being an anti-drug crusade, "Drugs, Inc" shows a powerful, clear view on the substances they review. I highly recommend this.
