To me, this movie is perfection.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

Elfen Lied is an exhilarating show, leaving you fascinated to see what is to come next. This show is scary, gory, and bloody. Except that what makes as unique as it. Elfen Lied has interesting characters, and remember able. Violent, yet interesting, never a dull moment, except not for the feint of heart. Otherwise than the pros of the show, the cons, what is stopping it from being a 10/10. Elfen Lied has an abundance of uncalled for nudity.

Elfen Lied does everything that makes me roll my eyes or makes me sigh out of boredom and disbelief. This is an anime that doesn't want to tell a good story or even give us interesting characters, but instead, be as graphic and disturbing as possible. There are being called Diclonious that have invisible arm like appendages called vectors that they can use to dismember anyone in their path. This is where we are introduced to characters such as Lucy, Nana, and Mariko, who are discriminated and often times, tormented by the humans. Lucy, the main character, breaks out of a research facility, but loses her memory after being shot, and becomes Nyu, a split personality of Lucy.We then have the human characters such as Kouta, Yuka, Mayu, Kurama, Bando, and several others I can't bother to remember. Kouta has the typical tragic backstory that was so tragic that he doesn't even remember the incident when coming face to face with Lucy. Yuka is the cousin of Kouta that only exists just so there is incestuous pandering. Mayu also has a tragic backstory that made me stop caring since almost everyone has to have one. Kurama is probably the only interesting character of the show and whose backstory is the best out of the bunch, especially when it came to his Diclonious daughter, Mariko. And Bando is just the prick who would find any reason to hurt or kill anyone he sees. There are so many problems with this anime, starting with how unrealistic the characters are portrayed to be. They make them as if humans were the devil's spawn and the slow and boring writing doesn't really help at all. This anime has almost no substance and its only defining features are the dark elements that are played, but even then it fails at that. This anime tries to be mature, but like some other anime that delve into this sort of subject matter, it has no clue what the hell maturity is.Overall, this anime is way too edgy and often doesn't know how to create compelling characters or even follow up on an interesting concept with poor writing. Originally, I would have given this a one out of ten, but Kurama and Mariko were the only saving graces for this anime, everything else can go suck it.

First of all, not anyone can watch this. It is gore, ruthless and pretty much surprising. If you were shocked by Attack on Titans when it comes to loving characters and witness their descent or death, this is probably be your worst nightmare. This anime is not a sad anime but it would never be a happy one. Why ? Because everything in it makes sense in the human paradox, torn between emotions we are all going through. This anime is, for me, an incredible experience. The first part of the season is bloody but can easily get lost between many others that are way more disgusting. However, the second part of Elfen Lied shows us the monsters we can all be. You can feel some awkwardness or unease, and then your heart stopping from beating.Roller-coaster of emotions, Elfen Lied is the only anime i cried badly during an episode and i could never forget how interesting and shocking this anime is. The gore is facade, human representation is the true horror here.

So this was the 2. anime series I have ever seen and I'm truly glad that I watched it.The whole story and the past of every character was told very well that made me pay respect to anime for a life. The first 3-4 episodes didn't impress me too much and I'm happy that I kept going. I very liked that you didn't know much about what happened to the characters before we see them the very first time and as the series continues you get to know more about each character's past by these flash backs of memories. The only little problem I had is that sometimes the nudity was unnecessary but it is not a big deal. Also the first time I felt like the theme song was a bit overused but then I realized that some scened would've been much worse whit out it.Overall Elfen Lied is a truly amazing but depressing story whit some beautiful artistic elements. And have some tissue ready! 9/10
