TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
fuhtogruhfer I found out about this show through some video I saw on YouTube and was intrigued. Found the whole show online and was instantly hooked. Of course, Catherine Hardwick has her 'Twilight' filter/coloring on, which drives me a little crazy but still, the show is shot beautifully. Suspenseful, frustrating, heartbreaking, touching, this show spans the whole emotional board. The relationship between the boys was very well done. Not a gratuitous love story at all. It's a heartbreaking and touching portrayal of someone coming to terms with who he is and the journey the two take in discovering each other.. all while keeping a secret that affects the lives of others. Found myself frustratingly yelling at the TV during the investigations through all it's twists and turns. All the characters were well developed and played really well. Was really disappointed to learn there wouldn't be more of this show. Great casting, gorgeous cinematography, intriguing story lines. This show really has it all.
jlater-73705 I just started watching "Eyewitness" on demand and I'm beyond sad that USA hasn't renewed it. I don't think it was promoted well - I'd never even heard about it and stumbled on it completely by accident. I've read negative critic reviews and many positive viewer reviews;seriously I've never understood what critics look for in a show. The acting in this is wonderful, the mystery suspenseful even though we know who the bad guy is, the strength of the lead characters, the difficulty of a small town boy discovering his feelings for another boy, a city boy who is a foster kid and the bullying of that plus he's gay...I grew up in a small town of 1800 souls, I can empathize with these kids. The marriage struggles of being someone you aren't and on the other side, discovery that the person you love isn't who you thought..everything feels very honest and acted with subtly. It may not be Law&Order, but hell, what is? This has pulled me and kept me glued for two days. Finding out it won't be back is sad. Maybe Amazon or Netflix could pick it up? It was nominated for a GLAAD award and it deserves to continue.
atlasmb Two teenage boys have a haunting secret. And one of them is the foster child of the sheriff of Tivoli--a small New York town. Her past is shrouded in secrecy and she is happy to live unobtrusively where crime is small-time. She, Helen, is the center of this suspenseful series that starts with a murder and spirals out of control.Fortunately, Helen is played by Julianne Nicholson, who is eminently watchable. As she tries to juggle the demands of an alarming new case and the difficulties of fostering a teen whose mother is a junkie, she unexpectedly finds exhilaration in the gritty relevance of a "real" crime. Shot with a muted color palette, "Eyewitness" feels shadowy and filled with ominous intent. The musical score is moody. Even as the clues lead Helen into a wider story of corruption and crime, Helen is upbeat, bolstered by the support of her husband, Gabe (Gil Bellows. They are both veterans of "Ally McBeal) and her sense of accomplishment. The rest of the cast is solid, including Tattiawna Jones as Camilla Davis, an FBI agent who is determined to control the case and thwart Helen's efforts. This series is tightly written and manages to encompass many characters without feeling thin. I recommend it to anyone who likes suspense.
deenadau-80581 This is the first time on televisions a same sex couple have such representation on a mainstream genre. Furthermore, this show has a solid story line with a strong female lead and multiple significant POC characters. Male characters are very in touch with their emotions. The story unfolds interestingly with details that are carefully crafted. There are different elements for viewers to enjoy, romance, drama, and suspense, each composes the story and nothing feels out of place. The acting is fantastic. The cinematography is breath taking. The two male leads have wonderful chemistry with each other on and off screen. A show this good deserves a place on mainstream television and multiple seasons to tell its story.
