TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
Phillida Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
corymegan There are already good reviews here describing what and how this series is great. I just want to add a few bits.~ Global warming is upon us, human greed and bad attitudes present, and a spin on killer zombies that totally works!~ There are 8 women characters in . Like the series, each is beautifully multi-layered and the characters develop slowly. It's rare to have so many interesting women characters in one place. Great writing! ~ There are several moving and surprising love stories, also beautifully developed.I stopped watching Fortitude because I couldn't keep up with the heavy English, Norwegian, and Swedish accents. However, using subtitles filled in just enough and I'm so pleased to have met this Nordic Noir.
palainausa I began watching this relatively fresh off the Icelandic series, Trapped. Pretty good at the start, and Stanley Tucci added a lot when he showed up in episode 2, as long as you accepted the premise that he was an American working for the British, sent to Norway. Anyway, I liked the setting, the cinematography, the different culture (let's take our rifles to the grocery store because we might meet a polar bear) and even the very slow pace. Seemed like it might be a good mystery, too. There were some annoyances. Every time Dan spoke, I thought I was listening to a dubbed voice, even thought I wasn't, I don't think. I mean, he's Irish after all, and though he didn't sound Irish, there would be no reason to dub. As for the others, even the children, I couldn't take listening to the drawn out, precise pronunciations. It was like everyone was doing Alfred Hitchcock on steroids. Do people really speak that way?But the real reason I won't watch season 2 is that somewhere around episode 6 the drama started turning into a Stephen King novel. Not my cup of tea, even in the slightest.
jwdeline The first half of season one, I couldn't understand the negative reviews. The cast, acting, direction, location, story line was good. As the show progressed it got gruesome. By the end of the fist season it seemed clear, everyone dies. There wasn't a single positive event or character in the entire show. When they killed a 10 year old girl, I was done. Why bother to even consider season two, to watch every character either murder someone, have an accident, or commit suicide. Instead of watching in hopes it turned better, it progressively got worse. This show represents everything that's wrong with entertainment in the 21st Century. It does not contain anything positive.
sanuky I watched both the seasons yesterday. Although I felt Season 1 to be okay because of the story , still a lot of questions are left unanswered whereas Season 2 is the worst I have seen so far because there were too many irrelevant and disturbing scenes which was not required at all. Overall this TV series didn't live up to my expectations and I gave 3/10 only because of Season 1.
