mats-filipsson Not a lot of fighting which you would expect whatever happened to the spacing guild the empress was plotting with. But still an awesome 3part series that no Dune fan should be without, I liked it a lot even thou sometimes it get tedious with all the plotting forward and back without any real action inbetween, but you gotto understand they had 20 million as a budget!? With that they created these 3 almost 2 hour episodes, and these beautiful costumes, sets etc, gotto make you wonder how much better and action packed it would have been with an even bigger budget.Great job nonetheless.I will give it an rating of 8 of Extremely well made for its budget and the actors are pretty top notch as they can be from that budget.

Erik What is first and foremost lacking in this production is atmosphere, more specifically the dense dune-driven heightening of atmosphere that is David Lynch's work. I do not care that even Frank Herbert himself has been involved in this work. Because, you see just like Peter Jackson's interpretation of Tolkien's books on the silver screen is not really marred by his versions of them, David Lynch has done just the same with his version of the Dune story. And neither can fine acting give that kind of mesmerizing feel for what is happening as the story unfolds. David Lynch understood the immense importance of the actual building of the presence of the surroundings, whether it was on Caladan, Giedi Prime or Dune itself. And the beginning minutes of the movie Dune is so superior in its thick feeling, with music, the narrative and the pictures. It's like a mini-movie in itself even before the film has really begun. Splendid in all its grandness. That grandness is never present here, with one exception. Almost every scene with Susan Sarandon as Princess Corrino has that sense of atmosphere. But otherwise it's just too thin. I want to be impressed by expressions, whether it is in how the story is told, the actors expresses their persona's or the general feel of it all. This has neither of those (except where noted). No. Learn from master Lynch and his visions. They were done visually with so small computer help compared to this, and is yet a hundredfold more expressive, with still impresses me. Not a small feat.

Armand not a surprise. only new proof about wonderful art. because it is little more than an adaptation. it is a translation of ideas and force of an universe with best tools. like many sci-fi works, it is a fairy-tale. and this virtue is important in this exploration of nuances and demonstration of great performance. high technique is only tool. the costumes are only pieces of game. essence - the spirit of novel in a precious skin. and the measure as guide in a fragile world. it is a very interesting series. and inspired way to novel. because Frank Herbert remains creator not only of a special universe but source of a magnificent series.

Qwerty1612 I never read the books, but I saw the videos and played the games of Dune and I must said that this mini-series est outstanding!It's one of few movies where I felt so much emotion! The 3D is a bit old, but so much better than "Dune the movie" and everything else is just perfect.Two little bad things... 1. You must know about the universe of Dune or else you will be lost in no time. There's not so much description or what are what and who is who. 2. Sometime there are long scene for nothing.Overall, it's a "you must see" mini-series if you like the universe of Dune or Sci-Fi politic movie.
