Ehirerapp Waste of time
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Grimossfer Clever and entertaining enough to recommend even to members of the 1%
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
m-j-bredehoeft I do think the writers spend a lot of time watching Supernatural on CW. The guys on Haven are hot but not as hot as Sam & Dean Winchester or Castiel.
SnoopyStyle FBI agent Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) is sent to Haven, Maine on a case of a prison escapee. She finds help from local cop Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant) and petty criminal smuggler Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour). The town is plagued by strange occurrences. People are cursed by these 'troubles' and she is connected to them in some way.I really like the show, the mystery and the three leads. I like the actors and their love triangle. I actually like the trouble-of-the-week aspect to those early show. The mystery seems intriguing and it's also the show's Achilles' heel. At some point, the show has to start explaining the origins of the 'troubles'. It's too convoluted. I respect the difficulties of trying to keep viewer interest while constructing a viable story. In the end, it doesn't quite make it but it was fun while it lasted.
rainy-designs Haven breathes new life into the fantasy genre with its unique blend of investigative/cop drama, mystery/suspense, and sometimes even a touch of horror. Being inspired by Stephen King novel, this TV show lives up to the expectations associated with that description. Each "problem of the week" is always new and unique, the show never falls into being predictable on that front. Lead actors are all average at the very least and some play into their roles excellently, most notably Emily Rose and Eric Balfour. The overall plot arc is not only amazingly unique it is also very engaging. The characters, their relationships, and their overall development are interesting and add to the story without overwhelming it. This show also does not lack for comic relief, banter between characters is quick witted and funny without trying too hard, the often sarcastic under tones to the dialogue in the show seems to come naturally to the cast. The filming in the show is nice, the scenes are beautiful (filmed in Nova Scotia) and there are almost always gorgeous panoramic shots of the unique coast line and brightly colored little town) in every episode. I knocked off a star for some poorly written dialogue (especially in seasons one and two) and some bad/cheesy acting from some of the minor characters (usually single episode characters and very minor background characters). If you enjoy mystery/suspense/thriller type TV shows like Lost, Orphan Black, X-Files, or Fringe or you like supernatural/fantasy TV shows like Hemlock Grove, Supernatural, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer you'll probably enjoy this. Some people who enjoy cop dramas might like this as well, though this definitely does lean toward the supernatural/fantasy end of things it does involve a lot of problem solving via examination of crime scene evidence etc.
mardermj The end of Mara? Mommie's wrong. More the combo of the two, with Audrey dominant. It's still Mud, hence, Mudrey. And the lazy writing? Duke gets to make out with Mara so those who thought Duke should have as much chance as Nathan, are assuaged? Cheap shot. And what is with the posting of new episodes with No 14 No 16 and No's 20-25 missing, with premature show dates for the rest? I don't think we'll see another episode until Sept 2015, like always. This scheduling nutsiness continues from Hulu to IMDb.It's getting weirder, than the plots, and the weird plots, that's a good thing.
