Mjeteconer Just perfect...
Humbersi The first must-see film of the year.
Seraherrera The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
Ezmae Chang This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
madmat22_de At first: Excitement! A cool franchise, original cast, Tim Kring - what could possibly go wrong?Well.. a lot.Being an avid fan of "Heros", loving it for the consequent comic panel shooting style, really "close to heart" characters, balanced scripting and its refusal to black/white schemes... I really got my hopes up when "Reborn" hit Amazon Prime.Even though the original suffered notably from the strikes of the writers guild from season 3 on - it never got as bad as Reborn is.Cheap CGI, cliché characters, desperate trying to cling onto the remainders of the original feeling by confining whats left of the old cast into their old roles. Adding see-through conspiracy theory background doesn't help the plot and so don't all the beatings, fist & gun fights. Hardly 5 minutes without someone being beaten, strangled or shot at, for no obvious reason. There are no surprises here, nothing that's capturing your imagination and no "George Takei flashing a NCC-1701 license plate"-moments...Rewatch "Heros 1-3" instead and you're better off by far.
squishybex88 Have you ever seen an actor in another show and thought they were amazing in how they developed and made that character believable? Well that is how I came across Heroes Reborn. I love Robbie Kay but I am sad to say that as much as I loved him in Once Upon A Time as Peter Pan I felt that this show (not just for his character but most) were just filling in cliche's, he's the teenager who starts dating his friends ex girlfriend, the two parents hell bent on revenge but one finally having a conscience, conspiracy theories...I just felt like I was watching a show that I had seen multiple times but just new actors in the roles. I have seen the original Heroes and thought it wasn't to bad so when I saw my favourite actor was a big role I really wanted to enjoy this new season but sadly it was a reboot that in no way did any justice.
j c I loved the original Heroes series, all of it. I want more. I liked Reborn. But that is not to say it doesn't have pitfalls. As so many have pointed out... the stuff with cheerleaders always carrying pom poms around, even leading the students out the door at the end of the day, too over the top obvious. I get the whole fate of the world kind of idea, but something that big needs more than 1 season to develop. The whole fate of the whole world thing is too over done. But I loved how many different things that the Heores universe brings together. And that it is not driven by just a handful of characters but a plethora of people cast and filmed world-wide, in different languages. I want Tim Kring and cast and company to continue to do more. That's why I give it the 10, because there is not that much out there being made that can do what this show can do. And yeah the CGI for the game world did need to be better. But I like that they brought in that concept. A little better development and setup for Miko was certainly in order. I definitely had a greater feeling for the characters of the original series, but these could have been just as good. There is still a lot of great potential for this universe, please work it.
westsideschl 1. Loaded with borrowed (stolen?) film hooks from other similar films. Super power (what ever that means) human(s) being pursued by evil gov/corporate group headed by, usually, (trending now) female nasty. 2. Cheap graphics & CGI effects, e.g butterfly that looks like a child's cutout; fake fire; paper appearing cut outs of flying people. Lots of shots of the Aurora Borealis as filler. 3. Juvenile dialogue oriented to the under 16 audience to help understand what's going on. 4. 75% of the film is standing around with robotic talking/acting. A lot of it just to prolong/lengthen film as filler to make four discs. The acting (ha!) extras look really fakey amateurish (especially the panic running scenes). And, always found in these films is a scene of cars abandoned with debris strewn about; all look artificially placed by the props people. 5. The science would get a failing grade in a middle school science class. Instant transporting of people with a thought - think about it. Flying, OK, well everyone is doing it in film so it's just second nature now. Add to that the stopping time then moving things around - just Gawd awful writing. Stopping a world wide Earth destroying storm by screaming while holding your arms up? Solar flare causes the Earth's magnetic poles to reverse - sorry, that won't pass middle school science either.
