It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

This show is one of the worst shows that I have ever seen. How did this filth get to last this long. This show has over 200 episodes which is downright ridiculous because the show has a new season every 4 months with tons of episodes. Tyler Perry says that this show is supposed to be a positive light for families but it isn't. The show is very stereotypical. Aside from this show being stereotypical its also very corny. From the recycled and un-original humor to the laugh track that is used every 5 seconds this show has to be one of the driest comedy's ever right next to Meet the Browns and the TV shows that air on B.E.T. I'm assuming that Tyler Perry has 10 year olds writing this show because they seem to find anything funny. The characters have no chemistry or personality. It just seems like Tbs don't look at their ratings because people give this show a thumbs down.

I have read countless reviews and a lot seem to talk about the fact that this show puts black people in a bad light.I'd like to know how that is?His show has episodes that talk about what is considered "taboo" or "off limits" in the black community (drugs, abuse, cultures, financial, relationships, rape and various other topics). These issues happen everyday in our communities but most black people don't want to talk about it.Shows and movies like his BRING THEM OUT INTO THE OPEN.Black people for years have been hurting and killing each other and it's nobodies fault but our own.You downgrade and reject Tyler Perry who has helped 1000's heal from old wounds that they buried inside them but will go and happily spend your money on or watch movies made by the Waynes who show black people making a fool of themselves (scary movie, white chicks, low down dirty shame). There's always black people who nag and complain that there is nothing on TV or movie screens that show us in a positive light but his movies and shows have countless successful men and women in them.Remember for every "bad" man or woman he has 5 positive ones.Perhaps if you negative people got a clue than you'd understand that we need POSITIVE movies and shows an don't ones that make us look like buffoons. No wonder other races still look down on us.Maybe it's because every time something good comes out black people are READY to jump and trash it.Either you want us to be on TV and movies or you don't.PICK ONE!!

I'm amazed at the number of negative posts for this sit-com. Granted, it may not be to every viewer's taste, but it's not the mess folks wanna make it out to be! Maybe a little jealousy on the part of Tyler Perry's huge success, maybe some Black folks don't want to see Blacks on the tube that aren't 'Cosbyesque', maybe some white viewers just like dissin' Black TV (most Black cast shows are given fairly low 'stars' on this website, no matter the quality of the material). I, for one, enjoy the show, buy the dvds, and get a laugh even on repeated viewings. I must not be alone, for no matter what kind of deal Tyler Perry made with the network, it wouldn't still be on the air after more than 150 episodes! Now, his 'Meet the Browns' is another story, I can't get past the 'Mr. Brown' character enough to watch the show regularly, but gotta say I dig the other cast members.

What can I say about this pile of garbage that hasn't already been said? Everything about this show is just bad; the actors, for one thing try way too hard. LaVan Davis, who plays Curtis, is particularly annoying. The writing for this show is also quite awful. Every single joke just falls flat on it's face, and the laugh track doesn't help much either. I've watched at least twenty episodes of this show and I can't even crack a smile. I really don't understand how something this dreadful has managed to stay on for five (yes five) seasons while brilliant shows like "Arrested Development" get canned after only three seasons. Case in point, stay away, far away from this show.
