Absolutely brilliant

This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.

Nothing is worst than a really suspenseful mystery thriller that is 8 episodes long where NOTHING is resolved in the final episode. Don't waste your time.

A so-so series.Started very well. Engaging and highly intriguing. Melissa George worked well in the lead role and the supporting cast were good too. However, the novelty wore off quite quickly.Soon became intrigue and twists for intrigue- and twists-sake. The plot seemed to resemble other espionage series, eg Alias. Plus, too much random killing - not that I have an issue with graphic violence in TV/movies but here it just seemed gratuitous. The final few episodes made it worth while, to an extent, in the end, as everything came together. Was a bit of a slog in the middle though.

++May contain Spoilers++I will keep this brief. As i don't write a lot of reviews. I recorded this and within a year i have started watching it from Ep1 for the 3rd time. Usually unheard of for me. As i seldom watch anything twice yet alone 3 times. The series is fantastic i believe from start to finish. It is intelligent writing, intrigueing plots & compelling viewing. I am familiar with Melissa George as she is an Australian so i have seen her face a few times on some Australain shows. But this is for sure the best work i have seen her do. If she left Australia to improve herself then she has done that. I was quite surprised to see only an average rating of 6.9 on IMDb for this show. I love it. I love the plot, the intrigue, the interwoven themes. I also am a love or Spooks and the term Hourglass is mentioned in a couple of episodes of Spooks - and it is as if this whole show is an extension of other operations in Spooks - this operation taken a life of its own. It is quite clever how the two shows inter-relate.I do hope this production team and writers put out a series of these shows.

This is really hard to review.First of all: The actors do a great job. Second of all: The English finally figured out that it takes more than a budget of 5.000 pounds to get a decent show up and running. Third: editing is kind of weird, but you get used to it. BUT finally: The writers do a very bad job. Lots of holes in the plot, but let's just ignore that for now, the real problem is the very lame and not really believable dialog. To give you an example of the kind of thing I mean: There's a kid, about 12 years old. He comes up with these really lame and cheesy lines on the one hand, seems pretty grown up for his age, but on the other hand he paints pictures for/of people he likes (holding hands) and has bedtime stories read to him.I don't want to go into detail, I just think it's such a waste of budget and it's just incredibly bad writing. On the plus side:you get to the almost everyones boobs :)it's entertaining, even though it's sometimes lamethe main actress is really good looking for a British person :)good acting in generalDrawbacks:not believable, especially the way and the place it is set.annoying and cheesy dialog comes up every once in a whileyet another conspiracy-theory-thingThat's it. Worth watching if you're just killing time, not worth watching if you want to focus on the plot.
