Michael Long, an undercover police officer, is shot while investigating a case and left for dead by his assailants. He is rescued by Wilton Knight, a wealthy, dying millionaire and inventor who arranges life-saving surgery, including a new face and a new identity--that of Michael Knight. Michael is then given a special computerized and indestructible car called the Knight Industries Two Thousand (nicknamed KITT), and a mission: apprehend criminals who are beyond the reach of the law. The series depicts Michael's exploits as he and KITT battle the forces of evil on behalf of the Foundation for Law and Government.

Reviews

Interesteg What makes it different from others?
Inclubabu Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
TheGDfather For those of us who did grow up in the late 70s and early 80s we definitely missed something special. This was when kids were allowed to be kids. When women could go out at night and have fun and social media didn't know. I really miss the beautiful women on camera. Back then you actually had to know how to act and you had to look extremely hot. Every girl on this show is extremely beautiful. You can even catch a clip of the young Gina Davis. Both ladies who play Michaels side kick are just beautiful. You also get tons of one liners, bad dressed bad guys and plots that don't need to make sense. Plus you here a lot of early 80s phrases.A lot of people on reviews were expecting this to be like the comic book. Not even going to comment on that. A simply found this on sling TV. I can get enough of this show.
ShelbyTMItchell Sure the story lines and the acting can be cheesy and not the best standards but still, you have to love this blast from the past thing.Ex-soap star and now reality TV star, David Hasselhoff who would become more famous on "Baywatch" later on. Stars as Michael Knight who was Michael Long, an ex-cop and Special Forces operative in the Army.As he is left for dead in the pilot after being doubled crossed and shot in the face. As kind-hearted billionaire Wilton Knight(played by the late great, Richard Basehart), who founded the Foundation of Law and Govt FLAG for short, to help out when the police or feds could not.As FLAG went with no limits unlike the authorities. They picked Michael and gave him the last name Knight to make sure he does not exist like a ghost agent. After a mental plate in his head helps him to survive due to his military service. After Wilton dies of an undisclosed illness and gives the car the Knight Industries Two Thousand aka KITT who also talks(voiced with humor by William Daniels) to Michael. Michael now reports to his new boss and new FLAG director Devon Miles(the late great, Edward Mulhare).Despite butting heads early on, both later become friends, confidants, and kind of like father-son. As Devon gives Michael his missions on each and every show. Also helping out are mechanic Bonnie(played by Patricia McPherson), whom Michael flirts frequently on every occasion he gets to. Despite at times, not returning the favor to him from Bonnie but both become really great friends.Show really was an original. And really one of a kind! Despite being cheesy at times. But a blast from the past!
oviwolf90 I think Knight Rider is a great series,in spite of some mistakes made in some episodes. Kitt, for example is a nicely thought out car. In reality,a car like him would be the perfect one, right?I love Kitt! I have seen some trailers for Knight Rider 2009,and i think it's not nice. I mean, they stole the original Kitt's soul.....come on,a Mustang instead of the nice Firebird? But,that's my opinion anyway. My point is that the original Knight Rider is THE best, and i recommend it to everyone who likes classics.:) I like classic movies and shows, and i am a car enthusiast(that's why I like Kitt so much). If you get to see it,i think you will be pleased with this show.
juella90 I like this show a lot. Not as much as, say, The A-Team, but it was great fun! As others have pointed out, some people get a real stick up the butt and complain that its corny, implausible, some of the acting is dodgy etc... So if we agree, whats the problem? lol But seriously, what do you expect from a show like this? A new Shakespeare? Does everything have to reach that standard of excellence? Surely there's nothing wrong with some light-hearted fun. If you're still not convinced that this was from the golden age of TV, turn on your TV set and just see how things have improved since those awful 80's. Have a look at the horse doo doo passing for entertainment THESE days. "Reality" TV shows featuring half-wits sleeping, sitting on sofa's or getting drunk and talking rubbish (Big Brother, anyone?). Tons of similar, generic sit-coms that need to have laugh tracks to let you know when to laugh (ever sit there and think "was that the funny part?"), propaganda channels posing as news, MTV is a shadow of what it used to be... Yeah, thank God the 80's are over and Knight Rider is a thing of the past, huh? The trouble with comedies these days is that they take themselves too seriously. There always has to be a serious love story alongside the "comedy", always some feigning of intelligence and seriousness going on. I wish the people making TV shows these days would realise that you don't need that boring rubbish. Shows like Knight Rider were corny, implausible, but GREAT fun!
