This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

I'm more-or-less forced to watch this horrible show (with daily reruns on the local cable), and and can't see what people like about it. It has no heroes: everyone is a cold-blooded murderer / terrorist. The "counter-terrorism" of Section-One amounts to the same terrorism they say they battle, including wanton torture, executions and kidnapping (everyone in section one is basically kidnapped). Not to mention the fact that the psychopath called Operations pisses of the most deadly secret agents of the company on a daily basis and still seems to get away from it.Add to this the bleary decor, the "whispering" that seems to be meant to indicate threat and the repetitive setup of each episode, and my abjection is complete.

First off, I started to believe that everything has (Luc Besson)'s name on it must have a certain amount of ridiculousness even if it's supposed to be fun. This time (Besson) is slightly related to the work but the symptoms are all here. (Peta Wilson) is a beauty but she did in this show some of the worst acting I have ever seen (strangely she's better in anything else it !). Although I love to see her, but sorry, with her same unexplainable complainant look and couple of known by heart unchangeable passions, she was too irritating, pretenses and boring. (Roy Dupuis) is the worst of the lousiest of the most awful actors ever been on TV ! Man.. Can he act ? Or rather can he exhibit any sort of emotions on his face ?! His portrayal for his character (if originally I can call it so !) wasn't deep or dark as it was obviously intended, No it was ideally idiot. Yes, his role is an emotionless guy but he delivered it emotionlessly, and while he's a smart secret agent he looked so stupid, wearing oddly the same clothes, being like humdrum robot. The thing not to provoke but to shock is that this untalented, unattractive, and totally dead as a doornail dude was the second lead in a 96 episodes 5 seasons series ?!! Nevertheless, still the lowest element is the state of false seriousness that this show was determined to achieve. Actually it wanted so hard to be interesting action spy show and somehow serious and profound in the same time, yet by poor and pretender style. While it's the girlie version of James Bond it tried to be so dramatic in the wrong place almost every time or at least by the wrong ways. The direction was aiming to be stylish however ended up as so pedant. For simple instance look at its image; it's mostly between azure and pink but with no meaningful or catchy thing in between. So with a ruining weak production, an average at best action, and the REAL bad acting it transformed into a dull experience and genuine silly time. Therefore I find myself scream madly when someone ever compares this to "Alias". OH MY GOD (or rather Mon Dieux !) How could anybody even think about that in the first place ?! True that Alias began 4 years after, and it got its own flaws and catastrophes as well, but there is no comparison whatsoever, and if you want to do it, so I might say one thing : Alias does have drama, acting, music, action, thrill, high guest stars, big budgets, memorable moments, and imagination while "La Femme Nikita" doesn't.. End of the story!

I really enjoy this film and I think it was great. I look forward to seeing the next season! Maybe Roy Dupuis is not as handsome as Michael is in my mind:) but as an actor he is absolutely great! I also like Walter. But or me it was hard to understand the fact how he got to the section one - because he always try hard to be nice for everyone. The main reason that i watched this film was that I like watching men with a gun on TV screen. Of course it was a fantastic idea to create a love plot which made this film more interesting and sometimes quite mysterious.Write me back if you agree: zinka@autograf.pl

I just finished watching the first two seasons and a few episodes from the third season on DVD. This is the classic of classic "Noir". No show in history has offered the intrigue, the sexual tension, and the originality offered by this show. The show's creators have gone on to make the super hit "24", God Bless them. Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis create romantic fireworks for this show's fans like no other production since "Gone with the Wind" (and all this without profanity). There are no better sets than those created by Rocco Mateo, who actually puts you in another world somewhere in the near future. I doubt that the cast, crew and creators could have envisioned just how good this show was when they created the episodes with a ridiculously low budget. The writing proved to be like a prophecy: immediately after the show ended, the idea of a covert anti-terrorist organization would seem much more interesting and relevant. Congratulations to all who had a hand in creating the new Morte D'Arthur (Nikita-Gwenivere, Michael-Sir Gallahad, and Section-King Arthur). LFN Fans still yearn for more episodes of this, the most highly addictive TV show in history.
