Alicia I love this movie so much
Titreenp SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
Doomtomylo a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
Billie Morin This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
SILMARILLI Define SPOILER? I do not thinks I've included and spoilers? A True classic. You must understand the times in which it was made. Broadcast started in black and white as most TV's were black and white. I remember when my Dad brought home a COLOR TV. We plug it in and turned it on ....... Everything was in black and white??? At first we could not figure out what was wrong, then it dawned on US, all broadcasted where in black and white. We had to wait for the Sunday Night Movie to see Color. There were great shows on back then, not the F'en crap of today. Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Bonanza, Lost in Space, Voyage to the bottom of the Sea. Art linkletter, Ed Sullivan, I love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore, Honeymooners, Even an occasional Bob Hope special, and of course a live ELVIS concert or two. Kennedy was dead (yeah!) and WE (U.S.A.) was going to the MOON!!! We did not mind bad dialog or obvious papier-mache monsters it was all good fun and we never took it seriously. And a Season consisted of around 30 episodes or 7 to 8 months of viewing. Lost in Space started in black and white but ended its final season in color. The worst thing about the show and the most likely reason viewership fell and the show was cancelled was Will Robinson. You had an entire cast of very good actors and yet the producers centered the show around Will and His Robot. Even as a kid I grew to hate Will Robinson because of that. It was a kind of joke we did not watch Lost in Space, we watched the Will Robinson show. There are three things about Lost in space that are Iconic and you don't mess with: The ROBOT, the JUPITER II, and Dr. Smith. That is why the movie flopped and the 2018 Series is doomed.
jantaylor-54679 Watched this show growing up together with flipper and other great classics. Lots of fun to watch again, a lot of moral stories weaved into the show episodes. Remakes have never touched it not even the new Netflix version. Seems like to sell a show these days it needs to be more violent with no humor whatsoever with kids with serious attitudes!
wawildbill-197-986443 I remember watching the show when it first aired. We only had one TV at the time, a Black and White 27 inch Magnavox console. One thing that bugged me was the scale of he Jupiter II. It was supposed to have three levels. The main; a second level containing the living quarters; then the 'core' housing the propulsion systems. Plus room for the Chariot and 'Pod' (a shuttle craft). But when the Jupiter II was in space and looking at the size of the windows that was the main level, how did it all fit? It was an interesting show, that was never meant to be taken seriously, unlike Star Trek, (the original) which the Enterprise was actually done to scale.
daynlarz This was one of the dumbest sci-fi shows. When the Lost in Space debuted in the 60's I eagerly waited for each show. As it progress the shows lack of writing talent made each episode inane and I quickly lost interest in it. Thank goodness Star Trek came along. The episodes disintegrated in nonsensical stories of regurgitated fairy tales, fake-stupid looking monsters and women actors who did stupid things and could not defend themselves. The show became dominated by the antics of Will, Dr. Smith and the robot. If Dr. Robinson and Don had given Dr. Smith a good right across the jaw it would have enhanced the show greatly because that's what we all wanted to do! On the side there was Penny much like 'Elly May' and her critters which added nothing and the undeveloped romance between Major West and Judy. Lost in Space had potential but became a comical circus show.
