mykesmagik1 I watch this show but that is because not much else on. It will never be up to the original. I think instead of trying to copy the original what I would have done is to make Mac and Dalton the sons of the originals all grown up and having their own adventures.

apkmedia Yes it does not stand any comparison to carefully explained science tricks of the original. I have not a clue what he does here as it is not explained at all. Children safety cause former generation experimented too much :P? But I like it. MacGyver has feelings. He is bonded with friends with his father with Maddie. All of them are real people that are grounded in relations. The former one had a lot of high causes related to saving all hungry children in Africa but at the same time all he had done was hooking up around with some superficially romantic sugarcoat on top of it. The new one is just a person and is not overdone in either way. I like Boser who loves Liana, I like Riley who has a father and makes family plans with Billy Colton. I do like updated version of them all.

jduyrhfngj I'll first state that I've only watched 3 episodes, but can say with confidence that any fans of the original will probably be disappointed with this reboot. Yeah it's got the 2017-ish camera work, etc, BUT it doesn't have the authenticity the original had. MacGyver himself is way off from Richard Dean's portrayal. RD was humble, down to earth, and a real likeable guy. This new guy is a condescending, belligerent jerk. All this said, go ahead and give it a spin. Don't say you weren't warned.

Roxie99 I keep trying to give MacGyver another chance but don't even last 5 minutes into the show. I totally agree with other reviewers. The new Mac is so wrong. He seems like a spoiled 15 year old.
