SparkMore n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

Hulkeasexo it is the rare 'crazy' movie that actually has something to say.

usmanbutt-01487 Do Not Judge until watched till the end.Although there is a phase in which the story gets boring but eventually it reforms in a very excellent plot with thrill and action. Its worth the time. Must watch people.

Mayank Agarwal The show is loosely based on the narration by Marco Polo, it is more about Kublai Khan the Mongol Emperor and workings in his court than about March Polo himself. I got into the series thinking it's about Marco Polo, the only thing I knew of him was that he was a merchant who traveled the Silk Road, was not even sure if he was a European or Chinese. So it was interesting to find out about his beginning and the part he played in Mongol politics.The show is a true masterpiece when it comes to production value, the cinematography, stunning vistas, periodic props and the clothing feel and look authentic. It's no wonder it's touted to be the second most expensive series televised. Also, it just might be one of the only truly international production, there was no whitewashing of the Mongol characters, everyone looks and seem genuine as if they were made to play the role. What this means was the production was destined to fail, as the largely Asian cast and theme would not work for the Western audience and the English speaking dialogues won't work for the eastern audience. (3/5) Season One is about Marco Polo's rise in Kublai's Court, at the same time showing us the unique Mongol & Chinese culture of the 13th century. We see court struggles, assassin attempts and the conflict between the Mongols and Chinese. The first season is slow to start and gets sidetracked too often in the middle with too many plots in play, by the end you are unsure of what the show wants to tell. Still a great watch.(5/5) Season Two rights all the mistakes it made in season one with the highlight being the gripping storytelling, central plot and grand visuals. There are many crazy cringing moments leaving you stunned. The plot focuses on others attempts to claim the throne of Mongol Emperor, one by-election another by betrayal. This series really came on its own this season, sad it got discontinued right after.

Anupam S G It is indeed a shame that Netflix had to cancel probably the only the historical showpiece it had in its kitty. A showpiece, so much so that it is almost a masterpiece. I am not sure why people here or elsewhere think that this show should not be classified as history genre. Specially when it is an agreed fact amongst historians that even the works of actual Marco Polo could have been closer to fiction than the actual truth. Mind you, this is an Empire(which was the world's largest land empire till the British empire in 1920) from history which has not been touched at all by movie or television. All this is while things like the Roman Empire, WW2 have been beaten up like a dead war horse. With the sheer amount of work that simply went into researching, design, direction and then putting all that together in editing so it all fits beautifully together - it is indeed a shame that this had to end at Season 2.
