A Major Disappointment

There's a good chance the film will make you laugh out loud, but if it doesn't, there's an even better chance it will make you openly sob.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

This show is hilarious. Every bit as funny as Monty Python, just missing the exaggeration's. I saw a couple of bad reviews. One person was apparently upset because it was a comedy and gave it a 3 because...well I'm not really sure, I guess they were mad at the temerity of humor? Another person said "Poorly written, and sub par acting. The English is halting, with odd phrasing and pauses as if the actors are trying to translate their thoughts into English on the spot." I wonder if that person has ever tried to speak in both English AND Norwegian? I think it gives the show extra credit for not overdubbing and gives each character a little extra heart. But hey, I was expecting a Norwegian TV show comedy about Vikings. And they delivered. Really hoping for more episodes soon.

Absolutely hysterical. Well acted, well directed. Set decoration is exquisite, really truly a great show with a huge upside for potential growth! A tribe of Norse villagers interacts among themselves and surrounding tribes. One of those shows that employs modern humor in a period piece.

This has got to be the most clever TV series I have seen in a while. It is an honest portrayal of life - no matter who you are. It has all of the great character development, scenery, cinematography and costumes to make it feel like Vikings or some other big production. However, it is listed as a comedy and you don't expect it or understand how its a comedy until you see it. The comedy is subtle and genius! Very Monty Pythonish - if that makes sense. Every episode - I LMAO! Cant wait to see more!

The characters are different, but the parallels are undeniable. It's Norwegian, but it's done in English. It's currently showing on Netflix. There is plenty of explicit gore, so those who dislike horror comedy had best avoid it.
