It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Quiet Muffin
This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Marva
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

So I just got done binge watching this and I was pretty darn impressed. The acting, characters, plot, tone, score, animation, everything was just so well done. I'm not too happy with Cartoon Network as a company and how they handle their intellectual property *cough* teen titans go *cough*, but this show made me think that there is still hope for Cartoon Network, it can actually produce some good stuff when it wants to. But now onto the actual show. The acting was amazing, Elijah Wood was fantastic as Wirt and Collin Dean was surprisingly good for only being 9 at the time of the show's release. The two actors played off each other very well and had a very watchable chemistry, although that might also be attributed to the brilliant writers of the show, who somehow manage to spin a whimsical and imaginative story-line while maintaining the innocent tone of the show. The characters were all written beautifully and seemed very natural and real. The tone of the show was very consistent overall and was nicely contrasted to the story. The score was also awesome despite being a little repetitive at times. And the animation was very creative and smooth. Now that I have said the positives, let me explain why I'm only giving this a 9/10 instead of a 10/10. It was pretty much just the ending. I did not enjoy the "it was all a dream" thing, I thought that for a show this awesome and this unpredictable, going with the most clichéd ending honestly upset me a little. Plus, it being a dream wouldn't even make a lot of sense based on what happened. I just did not enjoy the ending and I think that for a show this good, and this clearly well planned out and executed, they should have thought more about the ending rather than making it the most cliché thing in the whole world. Anyway I still enjoyed this show quite a lot and would recommend it to pretty much everyone. And that's why this gets a 9/10.

When I finished this miniseries, I was amazed by its sophistication and pure genius. With spectacular, spooky and old-timey animation, Over the Garden Wall provides everyone with a bit of appreciation for the effort obviously put into this world. The characters were also superb. I loved how they had realistic conversations which didn't always have a need to keep the plot moving at every second. Basically, this is the story of two boys who find themselves in a Limbo-like forest. They spend the whole miniseries encountering interesting and old-fashioned characters, while struggling with the fact that they may never escape the forest. I feel that every character represents a different view of the world. Wirt is sort of neutral about the world; his mental stability depends on his surroundings. Beatrice provides a negative view of the world. She openly states that she views the world as a depressing place, always maintaining a negative attitude. Yet, Beatrice grows to be a better person (or bluebird) over the course of the series. Greg is probably my favourite character. Some people probably think that his positive attitude is just due to his ignorance, but I think otherwise. Greg tries to keep a positive attitude regarding the journey through the woods, and is always a relief from the darkness that is the rest of the series. In conclusion, Over the Garden Wall is a CN masterpiece, with an engaging story, lovable characters and wonderful animation. If anyone is looking for something spectacular that can engage both children and adults, watch Over the Garden Wall.

I've seen that this is the highest rated series on Cartoon network, so I watched all episodes.. couldn't help but feel like I just wasted 110 minutes of life. It wouldn't be fair to give the creators less than a 6 for the "series" seeing as a lot of work went into the songs and some of the dialog, but I can't understand how someone gave it higher than this. Guess I'll be sticking with Gravity Falls, adventure time and regular show, even though their scores are lower, seeing as they are more to my taste. And also have a story line, not just a general idea glued together with silly songs. If you like it good for you, but I would most definitely NOT recommend this

The summary for this on IMDb reads "Two brothers find themselves lost in a mysterious land and try to find their way home", but it should say "Two brothers look for their purpose in life in a strange land, while coming across many others who are doing the same". I never ever thought that a Cartoon Network animated show could ever stir so much emotion in me. Wert is a boy in high school who is too scared of failure to do anything in life. He is constantly searching for meaning, and for a place where he fits in. His little brother, Greg, really doesn't care about finding meaning. He tries to have fun and incite happiness in others everywhere he goes. The opening of the series tells us this will be a fantasy with a basis in reality.Everyone Wert comes by seems to fit in where they are except for him. They see danger everywhere they go, but the slowly learn that almost everyone has good intentions for what they are doing, except Adelaide, who they expect to be good. They learn that they can't judge a book by its cover, whether it's a good cover and a bad book or vice versa. Everyone needs to find their purpose, and many find it through love, whether it be for friends, family, or a significant other. He stumbles across one place that finds their place only in death. Wert helps these people find purpose, but finds solace in this only for a limited time, since he knows he's just going to need to keep searching for his own purpose.Greg eventually sacrifices himself to "the beast" (who represents the evil in everyone and how and why it takes hold of us) so that Wert can get back home. Only then does Wert realize that his brother is the only person that has stuck with him through all of this and usually gave him happiness through all of this. They end up escaping the forest (but almost dying), and Wert has gained the courage in himself to ask his crush out. Wert found purpose (for now) but the outro reminds us that there are many in the forest, still lost. The intro song to the show has the line "If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend" and only in the outro is it revealed how we can pretend. We see Beatrice as a human, having dinner with her family, but only to be laughed at (implying she ran away or was outcast), yet she still smiles for one frame, showing that she treasures even this horrible memory, and transforms it into a good thing. She, as the other characters are and the song playing over that moment suggests, is "dancing in a swirl of golden memories, the loveliest lies of all."
