Synopsis

Two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, are assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, referred to as “Powers.” Set amidst today’s paparazzi culture, Powers asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren't actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals?

Raetsonwe Redundant and unnecessary.
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Bergorks If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
Hattie I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
johnofarrell-298-776639 I'm not going to go back over stuff already said, just want to say I found this show online by accident. I never heard of it but after watching 2 seasons and enjoying it, as someone else said its different to any other show about super hero's and that's what I liked about it. I believe if it had been more widely available we would have had the pleasure of enjoying this show for some time to come.
sparkas999 Glad I watched it! Sharito Copley as Christian Walker is superb. At first I was skeptical, thinking, how the main protagonist can fight all these powers without having powers himself? But that's one of many underlying themes of this show, power does not come from lifting things in the air, flying or teleporting yourself, it comes from strength of the character and its moral fiber. And I am not talking about moral fiber were you have to follow the society rules blindly (Walker breaks many of those), but more about the inside feeling, conviction of what is right and wrong even if everybody else says otherwise. And that's what Walker stands for, the integrity of his beliefs. He walks the talk. The other actors are on par with Sharito Copley. Noah Taylor who plays Johnny Royalle (what a great name!!!), reminds me a little of Deep Throat from X-files, with his constant chain smoking. But how fitting that is, with his power of teleportation, poof, and he's gone, like a smoke. Watching him, you can't shake the question, 'Is he a bad or a good guy?' This duality is played by almost every character in the show, but Johnny Royalle nails it perfectly. Deena Pilgrim (played by Susan Heyward), like her name suggests, is taking a journey, more like a passenger than a driver, but such a wonderful counterbalance to Walker, holding him back just a little, so that his character won't seem to us crazy or overblown. Well, I won't rattle on anymore, every character is fleshed out, the dialogue is not copy pasted or cliché like in other shows, and it's just a great and fun show to watch. Enjoy!
victorcardiss Not only are the scripts and characters predictable and utterly unoriginal but there's no reason to get to like these characters. The production company have lost all sense of viewer investment and (on just one episode) I could care less about the miserable protagonists who have to read this foul and abusive script. I already know there'll be no surprises that I couldn't have seen coming from a planet away and did I mention the completely overworked expletives (OK we get it... he a troubled soul with a rebellious streak)I grew up on comic books and super heroes but you've served a dish that isn't suitable for my children and I to watch together. I won't be watching a second episode. Finally, if my comment was peppered with the liberal sprinkling of expletives, you wouldn't allow it to be posted would you...(Jesus Sxxt is a new one but no more imaginative than the usual 'Holy Sxxt')What a shame... in future why not run the trailers later in the schedule and show the viewers just how foul the scripting is. (something about honest advertising)Note: I'm astonished... When I posted my review it was rejected because I used an expletive that was used in the script. Well done. Now if you could have a word with the script writers about decency and acceptable standards
secretzfan Powers is a show made by Brain Micheal Bendis based on one of his comic books that he had made himself. However strangely it is known that it does not follow the story that it is trying to tell in that comic very faithfully at all. Which is weird. That being said it is still a decent show overall. It had a good pilot episode and it grew as it went on. Though the story does waver at some points it did a fine job, but it does have some rough patches it can hopefully make up for in season 2. The child actors in this show are just bad! No really aside from Logan Browning everyone else sucks hard!Olesya Rulin sucked. I mean she was god awful in this. When she wasn't talking and just doing facial expressions they were horrible and when she talked she acted like she was lost the entire time. I mean seriously poor. Noah Taylor as Johnny Royale is one cheesy comic book villain, and he isn't even really that bad. His acting I didn't hate, but I wish his character wouldn't talk like he was some smoke addict. Susan Hayward is a good actress in this. While the character of Pilgrim isn't very compelling she is on screen. I liked her playing this character overall. She was decent here. Michelle Forbes is awesome!! I mean she really holds her own here. In fact most of the adult actors in the film do a good job here. Her character and relationship with Christian is so compelling as well. I really liked it a lot. Eddie Izard isn't too bad here either. His character starts off pretty one dimensional at first, but as the story goes on his acting ability also begins to shine in more and more and it is quite interesting to see when it does. Sharleto Copley is the best actor in this show without a doubt and his character is compelling, and it pulls you in and make you want more as well. Good job!!
