The Couchpotatoes I don't even know why I watched this series until the end because after a while you know this show will be canceled so it has no point of continuing watching it. But I did, and I still don't get why. Because honestly I totally get why the show has been canceled. It's just not good enough compared to other brilliant series. The actors are pretty lame besides maybe one or two. You actually despair because every time one of them dies you know he's gonna come back because apparently nobody ever dies in this show. If they would at least give you an explanation about why they all come back it might have been better. But it's a typical American series that they try to milk out until the last drop. So revealing the plot too early would cause them to stop the show prematurely. And that's not how American writers work. Too bad because now everybody lost interest and so you wrote during two seasons for nothing because your show will be forgotten in a couple of weeks. If that's how you want to be remembered as a writer then good for you but I just think it's meaningless. It's a stupid show with a stupid story that could have been better. Too bad I wasted my time on this one.

lorraineesimpson Of course, any drama which has dead people coming back to life at its centre is always going to be implausible, but "Resurrection" takes implausibility to a whole new level. There's the staggering lack of interest from news media or government agencies, the fact that it's left to one agent and the local cop to investigate - although what they are actually "investigating" and how they are doing it is unclear. That, coupled with the unquestioning acceptance of the relatives of the returned, has always been difficult to swallow, but as the series continues, becomes progressively more annoying. The acting is dodgy in parts, although to be fair they are struggling with a pretty weak script. The actor who plays the little boy, Jacob, probably comes out of it best, giving the most decent performance. None of the other characters are particularly engaging or appealing. However, my main gripe about this drama is just the slowness of it all. The story crawls along at a snails pace. I'm mid-way through the second series and still don't have an inkling of the answers to the why and how come questions. I am surprised at the rating this has on IMDb (at time of review 7.3). I can't believe anyone would rate this a 7. I gave it 5 because I've kept watching and I enjoyed the first few episodes. In fact the first series overall was not too bad, but since the start of the second series it's been a descent into daftness. To be honest, I'm watching it now just to see if anything will actually happen. Will there EVER be any kind of conclusion or revelation? It's become a sort of endurance test although my patience is seriously wearing thin now.

ooleyguy Why is everyone comparing this to some series on European television that is similar to this but not the same? Other than that, the series is OK. It is implausible at times. The little boy should be far more inquisitive about the new tech that surrounds him. A lot has changed in 30 years. When watching it, it is important to note that from the time Jacob comes back to the time the Army comes in is only 1 week. Months haven't passed by and although it is a jump in the imagination realm, it's possible that everyone in town didn't automatically start sending Facebook Spam. The acting is acceptable, the cinematography is OK. It's a fun show. It's no worse than a lot of stuff on TV these days and a lot better than most of the other fantasy/sci fi on now.
