Go in cold, and you're likely to emerge with your blood boiling. This has to be seen to be believed.

I do not miss this show at all. It is very nice to see Canadian television companies actually make a show that has a real budget and really tries to make a go of a real, good series, and at first it seemed like this show with great production values and a real budget and effects etc would be just that, but it soon became just another bad show. The first season was OK and season two was not bad but after that it really went down the drain. Unbelievable people doing and saying unbelievable things, melodrama galore, Grey's Anatomy level romance stories shoved down our throats like we are 12 year old girls watching the TV equivalent of a dime store romance novel... it's a shame because this started with potential and could have been good. Some decent performances and some bad ones, a lot of awful writing and some very curious and bad decisions with the direction of this show did it in. I'm actually surprised it lasted a full five seasons. Flashpoint was much better to be honest.

Now to call it a cop show is misleading. It has turned into "Dallas With a Badge",with everyone sleeping together, having unwed babies, and the new standard of alternative lifestyles. I'm all for real life stories, but it's more "Days of Our Lives", than "Kojak".They could do so much more with this if they wanted, but I guess sex sells. I'm not asking for "CSI", but at least 75% of the show is their screwed up personal lives. The show needs more in house/out of house balance. And get rid of Moore and his character. He started out a jerk that no department,(no matter who his father was) would keep after his constant screw-up's and inability to think on his feet, or sitting down.I find him just an irritating character and does nothing to enhance the show.

Rookie Blue was a breath of fresh air when it debuted. And to think that it's a Canadian production! The writing was crisp and engaging - imaginative and truly entertaining. The characters were appealing and truly likable with depth of character. We were proud that it was shot in Toronto (our home town) and had the quality of an American production. This season, it showed it's Achilles heal. Instead of smart writing, the production seems to be falling back to lazy 'run of the mill' scripts and although relationships are always a part of any presentation, now the writers are just moving the pieces around the board. McNally has had a number of relationships and then Sam and McNally are an item, but now everyone in the station house are sleeping with one another and another tact of lazy writers is to introduce homosexuality and spirit-ism into the mix.People - if you don't get off your complacent, average butts and start producing engaging stories without all the usual trash associated with network television today, you too will soon become a victim of the ratings.

OK..so it's fiction. The show is filled with various facets of human emotion-friendship,duty,love,etc.. So it does not really showcase what really goes on in a cop's line of duty, but seriously ,would you watch the show if it showed so much of just that? It's TV entertainment and hey,it's supposed to entertain! As far as I am concerned ,I get my share of really good looking cops and their cop drama,a dose of their personal lives and yep, that entertains me alright. It's not meant for people who are looking for hard core police action simply because it's a light cop drama. And of course,it's fiction..it's not a cop reality show..I don't see a reason to complain..it's totally entertaining, totally digest-able.
