Reviews

StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
nouhailabez This drama is just soo well written, well acted that it will make you go on a roller coaster of feelings, 50 episodes may appear as if it's a lot,i swear that it is faar from being enough
pyl-56802 I said I would never watch a drama with more than 25 episodes (because once I get addicted to it, I can't stop myself). However, I am glad I broke my rule for this show... I started watching it because of Yoo Ah in. After watching his other drama, Secret Affair, and fell in love with his acting, I searched for his other works. He didn't disappoint me at all in Six Flying Dragon! I actually got to appreciate his acting more in this series than his movie, Throne, due to the epic scale of this series. He was able to showcase the fine change from a young, reckless, enthusiastic man to a man who would take any measures to fulfill his ambition and to survive...even though these measure hurt himself deeply in many ways at the same time. I was particularly astounded by the scene where his father put the blade right next to his throat. Yoo Ah-In amazingly showed many complicated feelings at once, desire for power, fear, determination, relief, and sorrow. He has had other scenes in which he acted as a son arguing with the father. However, this scene was by far the best.. It was like listening to an orchestra with so many instruments in harmony that you just want to stand up and say BRAVO!! Yoo Ah-In is just such a talented and ...insane actor. I wish he becomes an international actor soon. He won the best actor award over Soong Joong Ki from Descendant of the Sun. I have watched both shows and like both of them. However, I think Yoo Ah-In's winning is well deserved. BACK TO THE STORY.... it hurts and is painful when you watch it. It is quite realistic in the sense that it is hard to root for many characters. A friend today may become an enemy tomorrow. An underdog may become a villain. People kill each other not because they hate each other. It makes you wonder if killing is really necessary? Is it really justice? what is it all about? just like a line that got repeated several times: don't blame yourself, it is the world that's too unreasonable. Even though it had many episodes, the pace of the series was actually quite fast so audience never got bored. The series is multi-dimensional. Each dragon had rich stories behind him and her. It is kind of like Game of Thrones. However has a deeper depiction of human nature than GOT. I typically am not a big fan of action scenes and sometimes just fast forward it (which I did for GOT sometimes.) However, the fighting scenes were so beautifully staged that I watched through all of them. It is hard to neglect the music in those scenes too. I also like the role of Moo-hyul. When everything got so dark and heavy, he appearance really allowed audience to take a chirpy breath. Actor Kyun- Sang Yoon mastered this role nicely! The only weak side, in my opinion, is the love scenes between Bang-Won and Boon-Yi. Their interaction did not seem to move me as much the couple interaction in the Secret Affair. I can't feel much passion and desire in Boon-Yi. OVERALL, it was a very successful series! The number of episodes may stop some audience from watching it. However, trust me! it would be a great journey when you watch it!
sunysetkeane it's one of the best , the writing the actors , the director , the scenario and every single thing about this drama is the TOP , I have watched almost all of the Korean historical shows but this one is You Must See , it's about the people who change the continuation rule of Korea history .. the story is about a true and real people you can find them in the pages of the history and dates I think people who want to see an interesting , deep story with an slight action and thriller ... this is yours , it's not about comedy or good looking people or love .. it's about people have aims and they write a new history ... it's magical , ethical , heroical and extremely typical .. I'm just so amazed about how good it was , I've got drifted away with this show .. I hope there will be more drama like it .. six flying dragons is fascinating ..
didjanoit Being only halfway thru the series, I almost waited until the end to write a review. This show is just too good to not have any reviews up though, so here's what I've seen thus far. Many Korean dramas are based in the country's history, and this one is also. Not only did the writers pick a particularly tempestuous time period, but also father/son rulers. The story so far has grabbed me from the very fist show, and there's no way I would stop watching through the entire 50+ episodes. The story is written in such a way as to carefully craft each and every character interaction, to best acquaint the audience with all the players. Their stories are being quite intricately developed with many layers. I've found myself sad when some of the worst villains were done away with, because I enjoyed them so much. There are not so many black and white characters, as many shades of gray characters. The writers and extremely talented actors make each character so human, it's easy to forget this story is told in a different century! The entire cast seem to be the best in the field, especially the young men and women. The Lee Bang Won character, played by Yoo An-in, has been absolutely astounding to watch. I've never seen such a young actor bring so much talent to a role. His scenes are some of the most compelling I've ever watched, in any movie or television show. All of the actors are superb in this series. If you've ever been curious about shows from another part of the world, I highly recommend you watch this show. It's a work of art in every way.
