Synopsis

Someday's Dreamers is a manga written by Norie Yamada and illustrated by Kumichi Yoshizuki. It was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comic Dragon magazine from May 2002 to January 2003 and was later collected in two bound volumes. In 2006, Tokyopop released the manga in the United States under the name Someday's Dreamers. Someday's Dreamers was also adapted into an anime series that was produced by J.C.Staff under the direction of Masami Shimoda. It is loosely based on the storyline of the first manga series with new characters added to the story. It ran for a total of 12 episodes on TV Asahi and was later licensed by Geneon Entertainment USA. However, due to the closure of Geneon USA, the series has been relicensed by Sentai Filmworks. Another story set in the same universe, Someday's Dreamers: Spellbound, written and drawn by the same author and illustrator, was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comic Dragon Age. It ran from December 2003 to February 2006 and was later released in five bound volumes. In 2006, Tokyopop released the manga in the United States under the name Someday's Dreamers: Spellbound.

Reviews

Kailansorac Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
FrogGlace In other words, this film is a surreal ride.
Teddie Blake The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
jpb58 Mahô tsukai ni taisetsu na koto (What Is Important To A Mage), or Someday's Dreamers (English title), was an anime series that was popular on Japanese television. It has received a pretty decent English dub for Western audiences on DVD, although much is left to the imagination through gaps in dialogue. The quality of the animation is very good and the music is very pretty, especially the title and end songs, which are very catchy songs to hum.The story is about a young mage who comes to Tokyo to learn her craft. She's a junior in high school and lives on campus, away from her family. She meets various attractive young men who take an interest in her, but the sensuality in this series is very subdued and non-threatening. There is no bad language and very little violence. One character smokes too much but that's about it.There are segments on YouTube from Someday's Dreamers but I suggest you track down the DVDs. You will enjoy it a lot more than watching on a 2 inch screen. They come in 3 separate volumes, 12 episodes in all, and you can choose original Japanese with subtitles or the English dub.My 12 year old daughter really enjoyed this series so I can recommend it for pre-teens. It's a wholesome, loving show.
phantom_pixie Takes place in the ordinary world, with a few differences. In a world were some people are born with the skill to perform miracles they all need schooling and guidance. We get to follow Yumi, a young girl who leaves the countryside to go into the city where she will be taught how to be a proper mage. She is set up in an apartment with her mentor, a man with a past that in all aspects affects his future. Yumi gets to know his friends, gets to share his life and realizes that a world full of bright colors and every opportunity at hand can still be sad and depressing. And how you need to see the beauty in everything in order to live in a crazy but yet a wonderful world. This is by far my favorite anime series, not only because it is so beautiful but because it brings up inevitable topics as love and death, and also how we can go on with our lives and let these things make us stronger.
