Ogosmith Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
elesternewton I have to agree with other users I don't really get why people hate sonic x i think it is a great show I have to say its better than sonic underground and sonic boom sure there are good shows but sonic x is still better than those sonic cartoons Sonic x have lots of action violence like the other sonic cartoons and it have more action violence that sonic underground and sonic boom the characters are not not annoying and repetitive The animation is great The action scenes are epic Final verdict: 10/10 rating out of 5: 5/5 Nice job sonic.
webberrules Kingdom Hearts and Sonic X. What do those two titles have in common? They both have very annoying and unlikable main protagonists who are original characters to their respective titles with already established characters for the sake of brand recognition and product placement. For example, Kingdom Hearts has our beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios feature films with Sora, a character I hate with a passion. But that is besides the point. This review is about Sonic X, which is very similar to Kingdom Hearts, only difference being it is a series in television series form than video game. The Bad: 1. Christopher Thorndyke, the main protagonist, is a very unlikable and annoying character. What is even worse is the double standard of finding Sora from Kingdom Hearts likable, but not Chris Thorndyke. As a matter of fact, I really hate original characters made specifically for a certain title also featuring already established characters, and no, I do not mean sequels. Kingdom Hearts and Sonic X are two examples. 2. Another double standard that is finding the stories in Sonic X bad and the ones in Kingdom Hearts good, where both have the exact same concept! They both rehash stories from Sonic the Hedgehog games and Walt Disney Animation Studios movies, as well as creating pointless continuity inconsistencies to the already established characters with "fresh" stories. 3. Cosmo is not very likable either. What Cosmo, Chris Thorndyke and Sonic the Hedgehog characters are to Sonic X are exactly like Final Fantasy characters, Sora, and Disney characters are to Kingdom Hearts. Crossovers like that are pointless and create unnecessary confusion with continuity inconsistencies. The Mixed: 1. One of the biggest problems with Sonic the Hedgehog is the franchise's inconsistency with national identity, so when it comes to the voice acting, courtesy of Junichi Kanemaru, Ryo Hirohashi, Nobutoshi Kanna, Sayaka Aoki, Taeko Kawata, Sanae Kobayashi and Chikao Otsuka, it is really hard to tell whether it is good or bad, because international dubs are bad because they are nationalising a lot of elements in a foreign- language film or television series, even a simple translation is a nationalisation. Another reason why it is hard to tell whether the voice acting is good or bad is the sound of the voices from the characters, so overall, I am in the middle about the voice acting. It is neither good nor bad.The Good: 1. One of the few things I like about Sonic X is the original music composed by Yoshihiro Ike. I do not enjoy it as Sonic music, I enjoy it as music standing on its own merits. 2. The animation is aesthetically speaking, beautiful. The environments really look like a place I would want to explore.I know I have been comparing this television series to Kingdom Hearts, but that is how I honestly feel about Sonic X, as well as the best way to describe this series.Note: This review is based on the original Japanese with English subtitles.
fucciflakes Everything about Sonic X is what you'd expect from a Sonic Series! A good story, characters (Well maybe accept from Chris but) characters have great roles, characters that are well in line from the main franchise, great episode plots. This is a series I can come back too Excellent work Sonic Team! The last two episodes were truly touching when Cosmo sacrificed herself to save the world from the Matrix! Sonic Doom (The recent Sonic Series) on the other hand doesn't even qualify to be called Sonic... It's just completely outrageous and doesn't even have any of these things I mentioned above. That show is more focused on comedy then anything Sonic related. Whoever came up the Sonic Boom series should do themselves a favor and just.... Stop.
Kuristofa99 OK, I've seen both the US and Japanese Sonic X cartoon, and both pretty much suck. First, this cartoon was created by TV TOKYO and then dubbed by 4Kids, that alone will lead to terrible ending. The Japanese version is decent for TV TOKYO, but the American is by far the worst of the worst of American cartoons (Yes, worse than the Super Mario Bros Super Show and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog). The first episode and Cruise Blues are probably the only episodes I would recommend because they don't follow the same story as every other freaking episode. The story of every episode is get the chaos emeralds and keep them away from Eggman (For EVERY Episode). This is where the cartoon starts to lose me, little to no variety. The third season at least does an effort to change things up a bit. But also the sub-plots are terrible. There is this stupid love relationship between Amy and Sonic that stretches for 3 seasons (Yes, 3 FREAKING SEASONS). There are tons of plot holes, and every character other than Amy (Because she's not on the screen a lot, and when she is she goes crazy which in turn is funny) is SO ANNOYING!!! The human characters get most of the show time (Which makes no sense because this is a Sonic Cartoon), and the dialogue, even the Japanese, is poorly written. Season 1 is predictable beyond relief, Season 2 is basically Sonic Adventure 1,2 and Sonic Battle (Lazy story work in my opinion), and Season 3 involves aliens, space, and everything you wouldn't want in a Sonic cartoon.I'm making this a big deal because there aren't that many video game cartoons (or even movies) now a days. It's been six year and this cartoon still pisses me off. That says a lot considering I love pretty much love the Super Mario Bros Super Show and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Take that in consideration.
