Synopsis

That '80s Show is an American sitcom that aired from January through May 2002. Despite having a similar name, show structure, and many of the same writers and production staff, it is not considered a direct spin-off of the more successful That '70s Show. The characters and storylines from both shows never crossed paths. It was a separate decade-based show created because of That '70s Show's popularity at the time.

Harockerce What a beautiful movie!
SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
BroadcastChic Excellent, a Must See
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
SnoopyStyle The team that brought us "That '70s Show" gives us "That '80s Show". It makes poetic sense if not in the real sense. They never understood that the audience wasn't watching it for the 70s style as much as for the group's chemistry. That show had fun which this one never achieved.Whereas the 70s group was always together hanging out, the 80s group had different story lines. It's 1984 San Diego. Corey (Glen Howerton) and Katie (Tinsley Grimes) live with their Dad RT and Corey's friend Roger (Eddie Shin). Also staring Chyler Leigh, and Brittany Daniel. The group never could bond together. It seems that they missed the lesson of what makes a good TV show. Simply making fun of everything 80's is not enough. Strip it all away, the story and the characters underneath the nostalgia must stand on it's own. Clearly it did not.
sindrake I just finished watching that 80s show, yeah all episodes released. The sad fact of the matter is i wanted to see More,. Not only was it a perfect mockery of all tings 80s,. it didn't have they lack of interest thats 70s show had..That 70s show wasn't even about thats 70s era,. it was about a small group of potheads trying to cope with how geeky they were and trying to get laid in the process. Add Tommy Chong and we have a surreal life intertwined with Bad jokes, and an MTV generation look at what was to be the worst decade in the 20th century,.That 80s show quite simply put,.. was geared toward the real generation 80s,. it was funny to me because thats how it really was. in that 70s show you have women entering the womens movement like its just happening,. thats 70s show almost gave the 70s credit for half of the 60s,.Anyways Final Summation - The reason That 80s show didn't make it is because 98% of the Television population have been overrun with MTV generation 12 year olds,. who think "Nexted" is a word,. and can we really trust the criticism of a group of people who spend most of their waking hours watching a station Named for Music,. yet the all music television only airs surreality shows goofy dating shows and ha ha ironically enough that 70s show guy playing pranks on people,. when and where they see music on that sheep box is beyond me,.That 80s show Rocked and i wish it were still on the air,. that 70s show stupefied 2/3 of the population and there is no turning back
rolab05 I thought "That 80's Show" was a very funny sitcom. The cast fit in perfectly and were hilarious. I think people didn't really like that show because they kept hoping that it would be the same characters of "That 70's Show". If people would watch it again, (without thinking of 70's show), they would probably enjoy it. That 80's show was put on the air too soon. They should have waited a bit longer to put it out there. But it was very funny. If that show would go back on the air, it would probably have better ratings than before. Now that "That 70's Show" is no longer running, they should bring back 80's. Viewers were just loyal to their "70's show" and took 80's show as a threat. I loved that 70's show and was unhappy to see it end. But shows have end some time! I really think that 80's show would do better this time around. Viewers just have to give it a chance and get that 70's show off their minds while watching it. After all, it was a different show, they can't all be the same.
ROXXFAN Just stopped in to say that the 80's show totally rocked!! It did not suck at all, the whole problem was and apparently still is, that people constantly keep trying to compare this show to that 70's show. Well hey morons, I got some news for you, it isn't anything like that 70's show, cause its not supposed to be! Duh, it was the 80's! The show was hilarious, and at the same time, I believe depicted the best era in time with a great deal of integrity, the 80's were fun, thats what it was all about!! It really disgusts me that so few people in todays society took the time to really appreciate it. I guess people would rather watch others eating worms out of a bucket for entertainment. Think about it people!!
