Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

When I heard of this show for the first time I was skeptical about the fact it's supposed to be a comedy and it's also about cancer. How could cancer and comedy be related? Well this is the perfect example for it. The whole series is a roller-coaster of emotions. One minute you laughing out loud and the next minute you feel like crying. You get very attached to the main character Cathy Jamison played beautifully by Laura Linney. This series makes you think about what is essential in life. Is it important to have a lot of money or other material things? No not really, the only thing that matters is your health and being a good person. I really enjoyed this whole show, all actors play their characters very well. The story is well written and keeps you bonded with the characters during the whole series. Certainly worth a watch.

I had no intention of enjoying this show , it didn't appeal to me in the description or the look of it ..the actors looked unlikable but I was looking for shows on demand and this one started from season 1 , and was only 28 min episodes so i was like OK I'll give it a shot.. Now I'm 1/2 way through the 3rd season in a matter of days .. I watched the entire season 1 by myself ..laughed , cried , and fell in love .. now my boyfriend , my sister , basically everyone I know are hooked ..its funny b/c I am the only one with show time so i have people calling to see if i mind if they come watch the show with someone they know in my spare room lol ...and I am hearing the song game called life opening playing in my head and became fans of sia's song lullaby from Adam's scene and every other artist on the show leading me to a whole new type of music , which puts me in fresh kind of mood and I am not even playing ... I have never had so much change in my life from one TV show's influence .. I actually have never reviewed any thing or rated anything on IMDb ..but I looked up the credits for the producers and directors names lol (another 1st) . My boyfriend is a mechanic ..he likes funny shows spike speed channel comedy channel or something like snapped ,ancient secrets football and fast cars and right now his favorite show is the Big C ..its a contagious amazing show !!!!!!! I wish it wouldn't come to an end !!!

It's hard to get the very last episode of any show completely right without thinking of more ideas or missed opportunities, there is always going to be room for improvement no matter how they end it. Yes, the toothbrush idea would have been nice, but I think it would have been lovely perhaps to have seen when Cathy opens the door at the end Dr. Sherman be the first person she sees standing there say the words "Hello, my dear", then reach out his hand to lead her into the afterlife, especially with his last words he said to her being "I'll see you again soon", when she had a visit from him in her ward after he passed away. Once there, we should have seen the all the characters on the show who have passed on be in one room all together to greet her including the guardian Angel she kept seeing, Marlene, Leigh, Joy and Thomas the dog...and perhaps even baby Cathy.

Mediocre trivial and cliché ideas about terminal illness. I love Linney but can't help wishing her obnoxious character would just die. The writers must watch so much TV they think this is reality. Her reaction to her condition revolves around materialism. Like most modern series it is a mixture of product placement held together by recycled ideas. Supporting characters add some interest but generally, nothing happens. There is no crisis, no resolution, none of the elements of a story. And forget laughs; this thing is about as funny as a Republican in the White House. Don't make my mistake and watch until half of episode three to find out there's no story. No, it doesn't get any better.
