Far from Perfect, Far from Terrible

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

I am what you call a massage enthusiast. I love and appreciate the art of massage and do dabble in it myself. I guess you could call me an amateur masseuse. I was expecting a nice show about a nice girl who has some fun and quirky clients. After watching the show on a show about lawyers, police officers, TV producers, cooks, and much more, I was glad I could finally find a show I could relate to. However, I was quite surprised by the show I found. I was sitting down after a long day and ready to let off some steam. I got nestled on my couch and put on this show. To my surprise, this show showcases girls who use massage to cover their prostitution to make money. I was both offended and surprised at the same time. As someone who loves the art of massage, I was horrified to see how the only good massages were "special" massages. Most massages are legit and professional by focusing on relieving your muscles or at least that is what I have experienced. Despite the confusion and the gross stereotype, the show was okay.

The idea was good but the show is totally artificial (for example all her clients are 25 years old body-builders/models), and not even the always great Loretta Devine can save the show. So i'm expecting the English remake with real down to earth characters and situations like in "Secret Diary of a Call Girl". And i still put a generous 3 for brainless teenagers how will be able to have fantasies about Jennifer Love Hewit in lingerie playing a hooker next door. But for people over thirteen it's just ridiculous. And there is not much more to say about it but i can't be published under ten lines so don't read me no more, i said it all but i'm still filling the lines to get over with it. This ten lines rules is a problem when a show is so bad that there is nothing to say about it.

The Client List was one of my favorite shows before it got canceled. I loved the show and am at least glad fans got "some" closure to story lines in the season two finale. However, I am disappointed in Lifetime and Sony for not releasing season 2 on DVD. Season 1 was released in February of 2013. I feel not releasing season 2 on DVD is unfair to the fans that followed the show. As far as the show itself, it has romance, thrilling moments, and some dramatic elements. It is a show that I will always cherish because it told a story about a mother that would do what she had to for the sake of her family. In my honest opinion, The Client List along with Army Wives is one of Lifetime's best accomplishments!

I gave it 4 starts because even though I like the show I can't really get into it because of how phony the writing is at times to benefit JLH. The storyline can draw you in but only to a point because JLH is always getting told how "beautiful" she is, making it very corny. It gets old real quick. It must be produced by her because in every single episode they have to throw in the whole town fawning all over her like she's Angelina Jolie and not the girl next door that she is. Its weird. Like other reviews have mentioned...the rest of the cast is below average in looks to make JLH's average looks go farther. Except for her BFF, she's beautiful, but a bigger girl, so I guess she's safe for JLH to act opposite of. The drama and her hectic life is very well written...if they can stop treating her character like the hottest thing to ever walk the Earth and get beautiful women to act opposite her like any other show not produced by her would have, they really will have a good show.
