While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Lidia Draper
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
Bumpy Chip
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

... gives hope, tons of hope. I'd worked with teens in the autism spectrum and this made me cry. I wish all autistics had the Savant Syndrome as well, but that's that, wishes. It took me 3 years for one of my "babies"-patients for one of them to come to me, give me a hug and said I love you. His mom broke into tears and sure, did it as well. He saw me in a loooong line at the Miami airport, ran towards me loudly screaming MISS MARIANA MISS MARIANAAAA. It was so damn sweet. Hugged me, gave me a great kiss and yelled back to the mom that a bit embarrassed came running behind him.Without any spoilers, savant syndrome is not that cool but it's cool anyways. I'm blown out by ALL performances, particularly "Doctor Murphy's". That's what they do, that's how they behave and the biggest, that's how they "don't feel". They have to learn any social interaction but have the biggest heart. It's our task to find out how to reach and interact with them. And the eye contact thing so real. Excellent performance by all cast and the reality of, if you are a bit different, even your parents reject them. My teen's mom was amazing.

I've only just watched the series premiere and know that I'm gonna be watchin' it for the rest of the day. I see it as Doogie Howser meets Monk & House(without Cuddy's cleavage). Freddie Highmore is yet again, spectacular. I can't wait to see what future roles he will tackle. I'm glad Richard Schiff isn't a prick again(I am Sam & Martian Child). It has a "House" kind of feel to it and after coming here, I now know why. This is a very compelling show, that almost 20 minutes in, had me literally sitting up and on the edge of my seat. I look forward to the rest of the series and hope there are more scenes like the last one......priceless. If you've read any of the negative reviews, you probably "heard" the insensitivity and ignorance behind the words. It's not hard to differentiate between baseless negative reviews and "It's just not for me" reviews.

It is a really encouraging show on autism. Rather than treating them like untouchables, we should rather get to know them. I like it that they didn't copy the korean series like every scene like some other dramas. They changed a lot, and it still looks amazing. Awesome job :)

I really like the concept and the cast diversity, but the script and the plot is so predictable. The show is very unrealistic and the dailouge is noticeably scripted and it feels unnatural. The medical conclusions they come to are so unrealisticly cringeworthy it's hard to watch. The acting is so terrible, maybe in part from the bad scripting, but none the less bad. I'm watching this as I'm typing and I've seen enough to turn it off.
