A Disappointing Continuation

Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.

This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

There are so many problems with his series. The writing, the characters, and the plot are all faulty. I can forgive the science being bad, and the super-natural elements contrived, but the way people act and the way the conventional world works should remain believable. A crooked cop making 1000 times what's possible selling party drugs in a tiny remote village. A group of anti-logging environmentalists, who can effectively stop loggers without police intervention. Casting of actors that seems to have been done without regard to age or appearance. Why is Renae with someone who looks 25 years to young for her ? Why is the handsome, randomly caring and sometimes competent, mysterious, drug dealing cop, having an affair with a frumpy middle-aged woman ? Why would the main character sleep with the drug dealing cop, who has been a creep to her ? Why do people keep secrets for almost no reason ? Why do police officers witness crimes like the burying of a body without doing anything ? Why is there a doctor who gives tours of a women's prison, because of corruption, instead of moving to a new town, or alerting state authorities of local corruption ? Why is their so much un-milled lumber at a mill that needs lumber to mill ? It's not how police work ? It's not how environmental activists work. It's not how the lumber industry works. It's not how a small town economy works ?

The show was good, characters were moody, strange and sometimes annoying but, the story line kept you guessing. You thought you had it figured out and then the last episode, well...
I had a feeling that there was going to be a final so that's who did it and why and 2 minutes left, in the tunnel or wherever she was, I told myself this is going to be a bad ending and it was. I hate endings that make no sense and leave you feeling like why did I waste my time watching this show? No closure, no what the heck happened and why?

The final episode ruins the whole series.Nothing gets answered although there's teasing about 'the truth' of what's really going in every episode. When one of the sub plots of who the murderer is gets revealed,it's really lame and nothing more than a cop out.The final scene makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and as far as i know there's no season 2.It's very, very, slow with very little is happening from episode to episode but one keeps watching to find out the ending, which simply is a complete let down.

OK - first review on IMDb because this show needs a voice, and the people who don't understand the point of "mystery" need to be answered to. First off - don't listen to any of the negative reviews of this series. They are written by people of limited imagination and/or patience. They are from people who wish their stories to be all nicely concluded with a tight shiny bow tied up at the end, all explained. People who do not understand, nor appreciate fantasy and sci-fi elements in storytelling. These are people who take ambiguity as a bad thing in fiction. The series is by no means perfect. The writing and the direction is not flawless. However, the setting and intrigue in the narrative are enough to earn it more than a seven out of ten. The imagination and abstract nature of the show are its largest positive attributes and facets. Ambiguity makes you think, and leaves you with a resonance of thought, one which you take away and keep from the visual and auditory experience you have just bared witness to. If you enjoy watching something which keeps you thinking, sees you going to bed at night feeling that little bit more uneasy about the world you live in and makes you try to guess what is going to happen next, but without giving too much away to the person you are telling your predictions to because in all honesty you aren't at all sure what's going on - then this is the show for you! In short - if you like stories which are not predictable, do not tell you what happens to everyone and everything, then watch 'The Kettering Incident' and make up your own mind. On the other hand, if you are the type of person who watches 'The Walking Dead' or some other such nonsense, then maybe this is a little above your imagination scale, so best to leave it alone.
