Synopsis

The Newlywed Game is an American television dating game show that pits newly married couples against each other in a series of revealing question rounds to determine how well the spouses know or do not know each other. The program, originally created by Robert "Nick" Nicholson and E. Roger Muir and produced by Chuck Barris, has appeared in many different versions since its 1966 debut. The show became famous for some of the arguments that couples had over incorrect answers in the form of mistaken predictions, and it even led to some divorces. Many of The Newlywed Game's questions dealt with "making whoopee", the euphemism that producers used for sexual intercourse to circumvent network censorship. However, it became such a catchphrase of the show that its founding host, Bob Eubanks, continued to use the word throughout the show's many runs, even in the 1980s and 1990s episodes and beyond, when he could easily have said "make love" or "have sex" without censorship. GSN's version of The Newlywed Game airs reruns throughout the week. Network Bounce TV has acquired the reruns from GSN. In 2013, TV Guide ranked it #10 in its list of the 60 greatest game shows ever.

Inclubabu Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.
Sexylocher Masterful Movie
Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Ortiz Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
cinephile-27690 I have not seen this version but I have seen renditions of this show. Questions that are asked are always something LIKE: "How often do you and your partner have sex?" "On what day of the week do you normally have sex?" stuff like that that NO ONE needs to know, let alone get paid to talk about! My Mom also hated it since a gay couple was once on and they kissed whenever agreeing on an answer-that doesn't bother me too much now but still-that could bother some people. Don't watch The Newlywed Game-it's just dirty questions.
ShelbyTMItchell This is my all-time favorite show. As it is the one, that put Chuck Barris and Bob Eubanks, the host, on the map. With four newlywed couples(Hence the title), are asked about themselves in questions that you would not normally answer. But not the case with Barris of course. As the women go off the stage first and then come back on, to guess what their husbands would say and vice versa, with the men secondingly. Then, if you get the right answer, it gives you five points during the first round. Ten pounds the second round. Leading to the 25-point bonus question at the end where the couple with the most points, win a prize and was that show's winner. BTW, it debut when Password fans were upset over the Vietnam War and a news conference by a White House official. That they flocked to the Newlywed Game on July 11th 1966. And the rest they say...is history!
