Synopsis

The year is 2016. TV sucks. Ratings - at least at one major network - are at an all-time low. Desperate to save their jobs, the executives make an unprecedented decision: It's time to pull the plug. On everything. All programming must go. But what will replace it? Enter "The Vault," the greatest reality television competition in history... Or at least that's how they're selling it. A 24/7 game show that offers more questions than answers. The contestants, college students chosen from all over the country, will have 7 days to uncover its secrets and win a multi-million dollar prize. But once they're locked inside, they'll discover a game that's bigger and stranger than they could have ever imagined.

Reviews

SteinMo What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
GarnettTeenage The film was still a fun one that will make you laugh and have you leaving the theater feeling like you just stole something valuable and got away with it.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
MangoNine I really enjoyed this series. I liked all the "what's going on?" and "what does it mean?" stuff you'd get from Lost. I see the current review favorably compares this to Lost. I'm not an aspiring filmmaker and I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I think this series suffered the same drawbacks.I was really intrigued by the different rooms and what they contained, but, It's basically meaningless once you learn it's about the people and not what the room contains. Just like Lost, I was hyped about the mystery, especially in episode 12, when you learn about the red team.I knew there were only 16 episodes (not including the extra mini-episodes) and around episode 14 I knew what was happening. Just like Lost, they wrote themselves in a corner and I felt like it was a cop-out. So, the world, or at least their area, is destroyed from a nuke(?). No one was watching, the blue team's triumph and Henry's journey seems pointless. Nothing was really important about the planned show, other than a slightly edgier than normal reality show. Nothing sinister intended. It tries to cover up the plot holes and rushed ending with metaphors and cliffhangers, but the last couple episodes left a bad taste in my mouth. I was intrigued, moderately entertained, wanted to learn more, really entertained, then disappointed. It's still the best web-series I've seen to date. Just like Lost (I know, I know), I won't throw the baby out with the bath water. Good job, creators.
janbantic The Vault is a 'Reality Show' by a dying network trying to save themselves. They stick 150 college students in 'The Vault'. Each get their own room and have a number of specific objects inside. They have to 'solve' their room in a week. If they do, they win and get a hefty amount of money. The first season is paced perfectly. The plot is intriguing and the characters all have depth. Each room is relevant and just when you think you have the answer, just when the whole things seems clear as day, a curve ball hits. What seem to be big questions often turn out to be minor. At one point, you get scared that the show is about to get formulaic, the biggest twist of the season happens- Episode 12.For any aspiring filmmaker or future web series creator, this is a show to reference and also enjoy. It is much more interesting than it's inspiration, LOST.
