Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Phillipa Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
Linda_S It is rare that a television series can leave such a lasting impression upon one however THE WANDERER starring the delightful Australian actor Bryan Brown is such a series. From its theme song and delightful intro to the very last episode, 13 in all, this 1994 TV series explored some very profound spiritual concerns that frankly I don't find done with any genuine class in the last decade or so. Filmed all over Europe it is both a delight from a visual perspective and also from a performance and writing and directorial view.Bryan Brown is one of the most underrated actors extant. The supporting cast is wonderful and the characters are remarkably fresh and interesting. It is truly a shame that this is not available AT ALL, either DVD or VHS, to the public. I would very much love to have all 13 episodes. Most readers of IMDb would surely agree that we see all too many trashy, worthless films, TV series, with easily available DVDs, VHS, and at low prices. Why is there not some concern for these lost gems?Knights, business leaders, reincarnation, chivalry, it had it all. I hope others will one day have the opportunity to see the remarkable performance by Bryan Brown, he has the time of his life.Let there be a REBIRTH of this on DVD.
zlajonja I just loved this series when I was young. It has that melodramatic touch and fictional link between the characters and is well made and acted. Though.. those sword fights are ridiculous :DThey had covered medieval and modern times in fight of good and evil. The two twin brothers, one extremely good, and other too evil, were separated at birth and now they must fight to determine whether the next age of thousand years would be *blaaah* or *weee*. :) What has cut into my mind is especially one scene when evil twin Brown sings a Liberty Wallace song. Will never forget that. And i never watched the Wanderer till the end. :( I would like to watch it all over. :)
icehole4 This series was rather well-written and well performed, except for the sword fighting scenes. Basically the Wanderer is a show about a set of twins separated at birth. One became good, the other evil. They have to fight each other at the turn of the millenia to determine whether good or evil will rule in the next millenia. The good one is visited by his past incarnation - it seems that 1000 years ago, two knights did the exact same thing. The story weaves the modern tale with the medieval one. Once the evil grave has been found, they discover a book necessary for the battle to take place has been taken away. They did not have the final fight in the series, but the overall effect was pretty good.
