Tom and Jerry is an American animated series and comedy short film series created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1940. MGM produced 161 comedy short films for this series. The story mainly tells the love-hate relationship between the two protagonists, a cat named Tom and a little mouse named Jerry, as well as the stories between several recurring characters.
